Meikleour Arms Hotel & Restaurant

Lovely stay in a beautiful hotel with superb service and food.

Before going back to our B&B, we stopped at Meikleour Arms for dinner. My wife took the soup of the day (zucchini and Mull cheese) followed by the tagliatelle with mushrooms. I had the mussels in shallots, white wine, garlic and parsley sauce. We closed by sharing the hazelnut brownie. All was fine, served quickly by a friendly staff. Reasonable prices for the quality and quantities served.

We loved this hotel. We booked the superior room for 2 separate nights and each one was beautiful. One was in the main building and the other in the annexe. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms large and well appointed. The food in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast was good and all staff were delightfully helpful and friendly. The location is peaceful but accessible and the building has real character

Their staff was friendly. The Victorian decor was a bit on the dated side. The room had water, tea, coffee, sherry and a couple of biscuits in the room, but room lacked ISB ports. We were in the “Flauhaut” superior room. Our room faced the road, and it could get loud. It was quiet when it was quiet, but you are right on the road. Shower was super slippery. It did have the largest shower head that I’ve ever seen…good stuff. Make sure you put the bathmat in there. Restaurant was extremely good for dinner and breakfast. Best hotel dinner we had in Scotland. Lure is their local beer.

Enjoyed an excellent lunch here celebrating my partners birthday. Lovely setting, attentive team and the food was delicious and huge portions. Plenty of car parking available. The cheese soufflé starter was fantastic - very tasty. Will definitely return.

Fabulous stay at this lovely boutique hotel. Our room was very comfortable with lots of little touches that just made our stay perfect. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and again for breakfast, the food was very good quality and all delicious. I would definitely return here to stay again. Staff are all lovely and we couldn’t fault a thing.

We were in the annexe just across the car park at the back of the main building. There are 4 rooms there (2 up and 2 down). Our room was comfortable, clean and excellent value for money. You can take dogs with you in these rooms - we might do that next time. The restaurant and bar serve super food and drinks and cater for vegetarians. You can also take dogs with you in the restaurant; however, the tables are far enough apart that people who don't like dogs in dining areas shouldn't be inconvenienced. The breakfast options are extensive and delicious. All staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed for one night but wished it had been more.

We stayed in a cottage - which was spotless, spacious & had a cosy wood burner. The setting was perfect & it was good to be able to have breakfast etc at the hotel, but also have our own space. The food was of very good standard & varied - dinner especially. There is plenty to do in the area & the walks are stunning. The staff were friendly & helpful & service consistent. The snug area / lounge at the back is nice for a drink & we preferred it to the bar area. The restaurant is also more atmospheric & in keeping with the rest of the hotel. My only suggestion would be for tattie scones & smoked salmon options at breakfast & perhaps more choice of coffees? I’m not sure if these are available but would be a great addition! Overall we loved our stay & are planning to visit again. Thank you.

Been here many times before but this was the special occasion of my Mum’s 91st birthday and her first trip out following a period of six months where mobility problems kept her grounded in her care home. Staff made a real fuss of her. We encountered lovely things we hadn’t had before - a courgette and feta soup, a pan-fried hake in a lobster bisque, and a super-rich chocolate mousse, for example - and also lovely familiar standards such as those amazing cheese soufflés. So lucky having this so close to us out here in the north Perthshire countryside. Thanks
