Azur Retreat

Just leaving after 3 glorious days here. Magnificent . The staff, headed by Maria excellent and very attentive. We stayed in room 103 which is one of the best rooms at level one with a large private pool….the main pool is only 10 metres away! Beautiful designed and appointed and LARGE. We did have an issue with hot water, however that was sorted quickly. Breakfast was included and whilst not a huge selection, the al la carte menu was good. Our room was serviced twice daily. And spotless. POD coffee and a small nonalcoholic range of drinks which are complimentary I enjoyed a relaxing massage one day…excellent. A small word of advice….there are steps…lots of them! Level 1 and 2 are ok, however anything above that has plenty of steps so be aware if you have step issues. The friendly porters carry the luggage! The views are spectacular. Watching the boats of all different sizes coming and going is surprisingly relaxing. Nearly forgot to mention the bed and pillows……to die for! Wonderful. Just divine!

This is a really lovely hotel ideally located a short walk from restaurants & shops in Vathi. Our room was spotless, spacious & very comfortable with the most stunning views. We found Maria charming & very helpful with recommendations of places to visit. Breakfast was excellent too. Lovely hotel staffed by wonderful people. Just book it!

Just returned from an incredible week on Meganisi staying at the Azur Retreat. Absolutely stunning hotel, we had a room with a plunge pool, a huge deck area and a couple of sun lounges with the most incredible view over the harbour. Just spent the days watching the boats come in and out. Room was excellent, all the amenities you need and very comfy bed. Staff were amazing - super friendly and attentive. The hotel is in a great position, just a 15min stroll to the local taverns and a couple of mins to a little beach. Can't recommend this hotel and location highly enough.

Paradise! A stunning resort on a stunning island. The location is excellent, the staff are incredible, everything was just perfect. A very short stroll to the marina and lots of great tavernas, an even shorter stroll to a small cove to dip in the sea. I cannot praise this holiday highly enough.

We spent a week at this nice hotel with friendly, eager staff at a convenient spot just outside Vathy. The training and service of the staff (particular in the restaurant) aren’t up to standard / price being paid and the rooms have some design flaws and the fixture & fittings need some attention. The loud pool pumps are all under flimsy, wooden decking and so for c.3 hours a day you have a really loud noise that put us off hanging out on the deck when the pump was running and spoilt the tranquil spot. Also the decking is overlooked by other guests with very thin, wooden divides (instead of walls) so you can hear everything in the deck next door (or above). You also get all the smell of smoke if the guests happen to be smoking (which for 1 night everyone around us was). The main pool was lovely for a swim every morning but lacks shade until later in the afternoon. Also the repetitive, sterile music being played by the pool wasn’t great. The restaurant was OK but they’ve made the decision to go fully Italian which on our first night getting in late was a disappointment when we were in Greece! No hotel manager was present and I’m afraid this shows, it has the feeling of a slightly neglected hotel that could be a lot better, especially for the price being paid. They certainly need to offer access to a beach club with sun beds etc.

The Azur Retreat is just perfection. All the facilities, accommodation, food and staff were exceptional. The 'Team Maria' concierge and hosting was all above and beyond We went with Simpson Travel so all the getting there and back was as smooth as a marble. If you are lucky enough to be considering this as a potential place to stay I urge you to do it - it's so close to lovely Vathy too. It's a privilege to have the memories. Thank you
