Hotel Elisabeth

I was served by a guy at the front desk / reception and he was friendly and willing to help which made the stay pleasant. Location is about 5-10mins walk to the city centre and there is a convenience store a few minutes away from the hotel. Clean and spacious room and the toilet - there was air-conditioning which is a plus point especially during the summer season. I would pick this hotel again when I am back at Mechelen and Brussels in the future.

Such a bad experience, hotel swimming pool had such a unclean smell and was really dirty, we were on the first floor so we were right beside breakfast area which has really loud loud music until after 10pm so loud to the point I had to ask reception to turn it down as we were trying to get to sleep after travelling all day, stolen goods were taken from my room me and my partner had left the following morning at 9:30am and didn’t return until 5pm back to the hotel, to see that they hadn’t cleaned our room but had put fresh towels in and left our used teabags and milk cartons still on the bedside locker and to have my bag of shopping that I bought whilst my stay over here taken from the room, I had spoke to reception about this matter as I was utterly upset and she had told me she would ring the manager and report back to me, I left it for two hours I have been more than clam about this situation I had then went back down to reception to be told by a man that she has left her shift was over and could he help with anything, I spoke to him about this and he was aware of my situation and told me there’s nothing he can do there’s no manager, I explained that I want some sort of payment back as this was out of my control he was the rudest man I’ve ever spoke to started mumbling as I walked away calmly to my room, it could have been worse but I would stay far away from this hotel it’s absolutely terrible.

Hotel looked great and was really modern. Two major reasons for the review, 1. The bathroom has no privacy, the glass is partially frosted but you can still see out and people can see in. I asked the front desk if I was missing blinds, they said no, no one goes on the patio that could see in.... two minutes later a group of people sat on the patio and moved when they saw me walking out of the shower... The other rooms facing mine could also see in, especially the ones above me. 2. I got a queen bed, it's just two twin beds pushed together, so you can only sleep on a twin unless you like to fall between the matresses.
