Jalsa Beach Hotel & Spa

La zona del hotel es preciosa, no demasiado lujosa pero limpia y cómoda. Todo el personal es muy amable y servicial. La comida (estilo buffet) tiene un número limitado de opciones pero está muy bien preparada y es deliciosa. La habitación es cómoda con caja fuerte gratuita y aire acondicionado muy silencioso y totalmente regulable. No me preocupaba mucho entrar y salir de la bañera/ducha, ya que es un gran paso sobre el costado de la bañera profunda y no hay barras de apoyo para sostenerte. La zona de la piscina y el bar son cómodas pero pequeñas. Tenga en cuenta que si tiene "todo incluido" existen limitaciones sobre cuándo puede obtener bebidas y refrigerios adicionales. El hotel proporciona información escrita para dejar esto claro, asegúrese de leerla y conocer las limitaciones. Lo más decepcionante fue que anuncian deportes acuáticos gratuitos (piragüismo, hidropedales y equipo de snorkel), pero el hotel está en una laguna de marea y la marea solo está lo suficientemente alta para practicar deportes y nadar durante aproximadamente 1 hora al día durante la marea alta y luego si hace demasiado viento, no se pueden sacar las canoas por razones de seguridad. Quizás esto sea diferente en diferentes épocas del año, pero te aconsejaría comprobar si ésta es tu prioridad. Se ofrecen varias excursiones, todas bastante caras (más de £ 100), pero vale la pena el dinero extra si lo tienes. El área alrededor del hotel no es propicia para la exploración independiente, hay muchos perros callejeros (pueden ser agresivos) y las carreteras no son seguras para caminar (no hay aceras y hay muchas zanjas al costado de las carreteras estrechas); El estilo de conducción en la isla es algo errático, a veces rayando en lo peligroso. Hay un servicio de autobús local pero no es frecuente. Me lo pasé genial relajándome en la zona del resort, a pesar de las limitaciones, y lo recomendaría si te gusta quedarte en el resort relajándote o si tienes dinero extra para excursiones.

Rather isolated hotel. You really need a car to visit beaches and nearby towns. There is one bus (286) twice an hour to the town of Flacq (market on Wednesday/Saturday) but the last return leaves at 5.00p.m. (4.30 at weekends). The lagoon is very picturesque but only a very small rocky and sandy beach. Rooms are spacious with decent balcony. Good power shower in bathroom but no shaver power point. Cleaning well done on daily basis. The food choices are not cordon bleu but of good international buffet standard. (curries the standout). There is an improved salad range and more vegetable and fresh fruit options now. Very good range of drinks especially cocktails. One minus was the number of stray dogs and sleep patterns can be disturbed. However, the staff were unfailingly helpful and efficient.

Just back from an 8 night stay at this hotel. Had a great stay, the staff were always very attentive and lovely. The grounds were well kept & plenty of space to spend time in the sun. The small beach area (pictured below) was great to walk along or sit at with lovely white sand. The food choices were what you’d expect of a 3 star hotel, varied enough & always tasty so we were happy. Very spacious room (120) and always kept very clean by maids. I see people moaning about bugs in other reviews but at the end of the day it’s a tropical island in the Indian Ocean. The most we saw was wee lizards living in the grass outside! Overall I found nothing to complain about, and had a great relaxing week. Thanks to everyone at Jalsa :-)

We spent a few days here at this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Rooms were spacious and very clean. The staff was friendly and the view of the ocean was lovely. The pool was very clean too. We'd be happy to come back in the future.

This could really be a very good hotel if changes were made. My wife and I arrived at about 7pm after a long boring flight, we were quickly booked in and showed to our room which was quite large and looked very nice, room 118. We were told the restaurant was open so we dumped our bags and headed past the pool to the restaurant. We were so tired we never noticed our food. On return to our room we noticed two mice just outside our room patio door, but as they were outside we thought nothing of it. During the night I heard scratching but ignored it. The food in the restaurant was not good, very poor quality and not hot enough. At night in our room a mouse ran out of the shower room In front of us we opened the door and it went out, later my wife went into the shower room to see a mouse in the shower and it escaped behind the sink. We contacted reception who moved us up a level for the night, not much sleep that night. The next day we asked to see the manager for a room swap he was very rude and arrogant and said that it should be expected in a warm country, if we wanted to stop them getting in keep the door closed and put towels down at the bottom of the door! He then showed us to a different room 110. He wasn't pleasant at all and when I said people were saying that if mice were in the rooms they could also be in the restaurant and kitchen. The manager got a bit irate at the suggestion and told us there was no chance of that happening. The next day at lunch a woman on the table next to us screamed and two mice ran through the restaurant. When the manager came he saw us and looked very embarrassed and angry. The manager I was told later was the restaurant and food manager. We received no apology at all from the manager at all. He thought it was the guests fault for daring to open the patio doors. The restaurant looked nice, but the food was of very poor quality probably the worst we have encountered at an all inclusive hotel. Only one person who we spoke to said the food was ok. Even a rep told me everyone complains about the food. Drinks are limited in choice. Coffee terrible. The pool area was about the best part, very sociable. The female staff were really happy and friendly especially Coosie*. Who were brilliant. The men were good but not as friendly. Would we recommend this hotel. No

Loved the size of the hotel, everythings was within a couple of mins walking distance. Gardens, pool, large rooms, staff, poolbar all great. Not a lot of choice of dishes in the restaurant, but what there was, was really nice, and well cooked. In the evenings there is only 1 bar open, which is upstairs with a nice big outside terrace. But not suitable for people with walking difficulties., steps are quite steep. The pool bar had 2 lovely seating areas, which are well lit all night but the bar shuts at 7pm. The biggest let down of this hotel is the lack of a beach, everyone nicknamed the Hotel Jalsa NO Beach, it was like a tyre scrapyard. pictures of the beach online are very deceiving, especially on the TUI website, and the Hotel's own website.
