Number Four at Stow

Follow up visit for lunch on the 28/8. Excellent service (apologies can’t recall the servers name), food was also very good. Feel sorry for the operators being so quiet when the food / service was so good! Pricing reasonable, good car park and facilities.

A nice little stay in the Cotswolds. We loved the feel of this little hotel and it was centrally located to explore places like Bourton-on-the-water and Bibury and the slaughters. The walk into Stow-on-theWold took us about 25 minutes up a steep hill. The path was rather narrow and not very well lit so take a torch if you are venturing out on foot. We loved the little extras in our room included with our Secret Escapes booking such as Prosecco, chocolates, biscuits water and coffee and the bed was huge. Just a couple of tweaks would make it better. The grout around the bathroom was mouldy and needed a good clean and we were woke in the night by clattering coming from the vent in the room on a number of occasions. Breakfast was amazing too

This is the second time we have stayed here. The staff are very accommodating,, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was well cooked and a good choice of different meals. We ate in the yew tree both evenings, and enjoyed the food that was served. The server that served us was a lovely lad (northern) and made our experience more enjoyable. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. The toiletries were one of the nicest that I have used in any hotel I have stayed in and the towels were really soft and fluffy. There was some renovation work going on but it didn’t interfere with anything as it started at a reasonable time and finished early. We would and will stay here again.

A fantastic location to explore the Cotswolds, very good value for money. But could do with an upgrade in the bedrooms and stairway to give it more of the wow factor. Lovely staff and delicious food and very reasonably priced.

Have stayed here previously - friendly staff and nice small hotel. At the moment though work is being done to upgrade the bedrooms but we were only informed of this at check-in. We assumed that our room was still to be done and found the toilet seat loose which we reported. Breakfast was very good and plenty to choose from and we had a evening meal on one evening which was very nice. Overall I would recommed this hotel and there is a nice walk away from the road into Stow taking approx 20 -30 mins. The hotel is n a good position for visiting the local area.
