Have had a very lovely stay here, the only let down is the breakfast which is why 4 instead of 5.The staff here are helpful and kind,the swimming pool is just beautiful and the man who runs the bar down by the pool is fantastic. The hotel is very clean,with lovely touches throughout. it's about a 20 minute walk into town which is a very easy walk in , perfect distance for walking off lunch and supper.

If I could have given this hotel no stars I would have . We booked a 2 night stay over 6 months ago to stay may 20th - 22nd 2025. Our booking was cancelled by the hotel 2 weeks before travel this was due to the hotel Accepting and hosting an exclusive corporate event …. Be aware travellers they cannot be trusted, ultimately ruined our time in matera as the only accommodation left at short notice was sub standard

Nice service. Beautiful rooms. Clean and big. Such a pity that a big swimming pool opens only at 10 am and closes at 6:30 pm. And access to SPA with indoor facilities (swimming pool, sauna) is complicated. You have to order in advance and it's not a guarantee that you get a suitable slot for you.

My partner and I stayed in this beautiful hotel on August 15th. The hotel itself is an old building that was previously a mill, then a pasta factory, and now transformed into a stunning accommodation with a pool and gardens. We arrived on the day they were hosting a summer pool party. We booked this on arrival, and the event was due to start at 8 pm. The event was live music and food served by what I can only describe as the highest of the culinary world chefs. The food was served around the pool in the most fantastic surroundings and right through to after 1am. Absolutely outstanding food and entertainment. But as good as the hotel and food is, the customer service is some of the best I have come across in Italy or anywhere else. They were all very friendly, spoke great English, their attention to detail and ensuring we enjoyed ourselves was second to none. Their knowledge of the hotel, the personal touch, and genuine interest in us has left the experience staying here unreal. Thank you to all but massive gratitude to Eugenio, Ali, and Mick. ECCELLENTE IN TUTTO In occasione di un ricevimento ho apprezzato la struttura in tufo tipico del territorio ben curato nei dettagli, architettura in tufo scolpito a mano dai Maestri d'ascia di Matera. La Sig.ra Clemy e il Sig. Gianfranco hanno reso Mulino Alvino Relais il fiore all'occhiello dell'accoglienza e della ristorazione a Matera. Staff diretto dal Maître di sala, Sig. Pino, servizio impeccabile nella gestione dei rapporti con i clienti e nell'organizzazione dell'intero evento, mettendo a proprio agio noi e i nostri invitati, rendendolo unico. Altro immenso pregio di è la cucina diretta dallo Chef Giuseppe, altamente qualificato, competente in tutti gli aspetti della preparazione del cibo alla gestione del personale, è a capo della brigata di cucina fornata da ragazzi e ragazze di notevoli doti selezionati accuratamente. Piatti raffinati che rispettano le tradizioni. Carta dei vini selezionati tipici del posto e a richiesta tra le migliori cantine d'Italia per soddisfare la clientela e coccolarla. Servizi igienici e intera struttura pulita con personale sempre presente e discreto. Vivamente consigliato per eventi e periodi di relax in una città unica al mondo, Patrimonio dell'UNESCO.

We loved our stay at Alvino! Michele and Eugenio went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing time! The room was super spacious and the bed really confortable, the breakfast was great too. Beautiful pool. We hope to be back soon. Thank you!
