Stunning. Not touristy, but near Sorrento if that's your thing. Immaculate gardens to wander through. Two pools with a bar. Walkway to beach. 360 views of Mt Vesuvius from the restaurant. Breaky simple, but delicious. Staff are genuine, friendly yet unimposing. You can drive right up to your room. No dragging luggage down steep roads. Puolo is below. Wear your walking shoes because even if you drive, you have some fairly steep hills to navigate before you get to the village. Well worth it. Lovely restaurants in Puolo.

Amazing view and such a beautiful garden! The restaurant staff including the pool bar staff were friendly and service minded. Nino would make special effort serving the dinner and making us feel comfortable. Unfortunately there were some disapointments too. The restaurant open times were quite unclear, for example, one night it was supposed to be suddenly closed and as suddenly it was open again afrer we came back from a quite frustrating search of restaurants near by. In the 40c heat it wasnt a nice surprise to have to walk all the way down (and up!) to find a restaurant that was open when we were allready hungry and not prepared for this. Then one day the reception lady suddenly decided that we could only pay by cash. Before card had been ok. So alltogether the existence of the hotel services felt unreliable… Also one day we got a note saying there was going to be no running water in the next 2 days. They had provided us with bottled water. The note claimed the waterproblem was gonna be in the whole town of massa Lubrense but other locals werent aware of this… the great news was that later that day they had gone to our room and took back the note along with the bottles and the restaurant service knew to tell us the water cut was maybe cancelled and it turned out it was (no note of this though).

I would not recommend this hotel at all we are currently here we did not have water for a shower or toilet for the 1st 36hrs of our trip. I spoke to the manager numerous times she was rude and quite dismissive. I asked her about church times and her response was "I don't go" The European soccer games currently on no main display area to view the matches we arrived back one evening at 21.50 and the hotel bar was closed. The breakfast staff and accommodation staff were very friendly and accommodating think they should be front of house staff. Would recommend somewhere else ti stay

Exceptional hotel, with a magnificent view. The staff and service was absolutely perfect and the owners made us feel at home. I would come back to Naples simply to stay at this hotel. Strongly recommend !!

Just back from a stay in Hotel Villa Lubrense, I've seen the mixed reviews for this hotel so here is my twopence worth, The Hotel has a few different accomadations, there is some self catering Bungalows and Chalets and then the main hotel itself.. I'm guessing has 10 maybe 12 rooms. My friend and I opted to stay in the hotel seaview/balcony room so that is all I can base my review on... I absolutely fell in love with this place, It's a traditional family run hotel, We met a granny, dad, mum and son and they could not do enough for us, we had breakfast on the restaurant balcony overlooking the bay of naples every morning.. They say on website brekkie is a coffee and crossaint... I think they need to update this... Miriam feed us to the brim every morning with lovely cured meats, fresh crossaint, any amount of pastries a choice of scrambled egg or omelette..Fresh fruit, the most beautiful cappacino, I'm getting hungry just typing this😋 The grounds itself are so well maintained.. It truly is like a scene from an Italian film/book, we left every morning early to do day trips and didn't come back to hotel til late the first 4 or 5 days, those few days we were looking for restaurants with lovely sunset views, forgetting that we literally had the most breathtaking sunset on our own door step🤦‍♀️ The hotel is about 4km from Sorrento so not central but the price reflects that and I would not want to stay in the middle of sorrento and not wake up to the incredible views... There was a bus at the top of the road from hotel so it was not a problem, it brings you to centre to sorrento for 2/3 euro. We spent the last 2 days chilling by the pool and it was just bliss..There is also a small private beach that every guest has access too... We had a beautiful lunch with local wine (ehhh €6 a bottle!) at the lil pool bar prepared by Alisandro who has only just joined family buisness last year, he worked in a mitchelin star restaurant for 8 years previously. They are the hardest working family and staff, I've ever come across, and I really think their trying to improve their reviews on trip advisor... So I hope this review helps a little.. In busy season I would cut them a lil slack as there is small staff numbers which I'm sure they will add to for that reason but also it's nice to be kind... Miriam and Alisandro especially thank you for making our time in your hotel very special..my only wish is I get to visit this lovely little hotel again From one of the Irish Girls.. Martina 🥰

We did not like our stay here. It was a huge disappointment for our first visit ever to Italy. I felt like we were given an inferior room at the bottom of a building. I felt like I was at Summer Camp. Very uncomfortable bed. Rugged looking furniture. Small bathroom. Our electricity stopped working in the bathroom and there were no maintenance workers over the weekend to assist us. The morning we were checking out, it magically worked again. The pool area is very nice with stunning views. Unfortunately, we didn't even get to use the pool. When I read the reviews about a path down to the beach, I was surprised because we were never told there was a path. When you travel to Italy, make sure you bring your own washcloths because they are not provided at any of the hotels.

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Lubrense. The staff were excellent, very accommodating and helpful (a special thank you to Fabiola for your kindness). The hotel also has two private walking tracks down to the beach/village, great location for a quiet getaway.

Hotel Villa Lubrense was fabulous! We stayed in one of the apartments, Puolo. For the price you pay, the views, the location and the accommodation/amenities are unmatched! We had an incredible stay and it exceeded our expectations. The apartment itself is basic, but that’s all you’re paying for and we didn’t really spend any time inside anyway so suited us perfectly. We were lucky and no one had booked the other apartment so the terrace was all to ourselves, which was a real added perk. We loved the terrace so much we hardly spent any time at the pool! We found the terrace so romantic in the evenings, looking over the water and most evenings a firework display! The mattress was hard but that’s typical in Italy. The air conditioning was really powerful! Something we were nervous about. There is no Wi-Fi in the apartment but there is cellular reception and you can connect to Wi-Fi at the reception and download stuff or do what you need to do. Wasn’t really a problem for us. The hotel staff were really warm and friendly. We were very well accommodated and they helped to make it a great stay for us. There aren’t any shops or ATMs nearby so stock up on what you need in Sorrento before you get there. Buses are fairly frequent and on time, just check the timetable on your phone before you go and wait. They run until late in the evening so no problems getting back after dinner out in Sorrento. The bus drivers do sell tickets, (not common practice in Italy, you need to buy tickets before boarding from tobacconists, some shops/cafes) they’re just a little more expensive. The bus only takes 10/15mins and most of that is just getting through Sorrento. I’d say it’s absolutely worth staying a little further out and having the space/views that we had. There is a path that leads down to the beach (with black sand from Vesuvius) and a few really nice restaurants, some award winning. The quality of the food is great and there is a great atmosphere. The hotel is on top of a cliff which is what provides the spectacular views, as a result, the walk back up from the beach is hard! It only takes 10/15mins but it is going up steps most the way and can be quite steep, but if you didn’t have to do that, you wouldn’t get the views. As long as you’re able bodied, you will be able to cope as it’s only a short journey but you will be out of breath. You can also go by road or if you book a table at the restaurants at the beach they offer a taxi service for free. The hotel organised a trip to Capri for us, it was seamless and worth the visit! We went for the early trip (as advised by the hotel) because it’s quieter, and I would say it’s absolutely better to go early. We had time to explore Capri whilst it was quiet, then when we were ready to sit down and eat it had really picked up and gotten very busy. I think some of the reviews have been harsh and people just looking for reasons to complain. I can’t comment on the hotel rooms, but the Puolo apartment looked like
