Glen Ayr Resort

Absolutely fabulous quaint place the room was very clean. The view was spectacular and the staff was exceptional. Third or fourth time i've stayed here, and i've always been happy. If you want a wonderful place to stay on the water with A. Terrific water view, an exceptional staff and awesome rv. Sites, ann motel, then you'll stay here at glen ayr

My family had a wonderful stay the Haus on the Hill at Glen Ayr resort. It's a separate airbnb equipped with total privacy, a view of the Hood canal, and an artist studio! I'm an artist and it was perfect space to focus on painting and get inspiration. The staff are super kind and accommodating. Hoodsport is a sleepy town, but there's some cute local eateries and a grocery store a few minutes away.

We were looking for a stopping point along the Hood Canal and the reviews on this place were good. Places to stay were limited. We got the ocean view King room. Decent room, well kept and clean and looks like some recent reno's. Really nice view of Hood Canal from our room. Well kept grounds, all neat and tidy. And a decent rate. The one drawback to this place is it is right on the highway. Highway 101, very busy. So there is a lot of road noise. We had the room right at the front of the hotel which is about a hundred feet from the road. So if you're considering this, think of ear plugs. Some of the units further from the road might be better. Only other negative was that I could not figure out the A/C, fan controls. Not critical because it was cool overnight, but I like to run the fan to screen out noise. It wouldn't have helped in this case. If you need a phone, its isn't in your room. Not an inconvenience for us. So its a nice property, with a great view but road noise is a concern.

Boring, super rude staff, super tight and small RV spaces no privacy, highway noise, nothing to do for children, jacuzzi is super old. They also charged us a $50 charge from each of our families that we lost their 2 bean bags but before we left we found them under the canopy and we wanted to tell them but it was a Sunday afternoon and no one was in there office, so we left. They also charged us for breaking something at the dock that we did not even brake, we called them and they did not want to refund us. First of all they can’t blame any of this on us because they have no proof that we did it, and also they didn’t even email us about this they just charged it off our cards without letting us know. Again worst resort ever.

I hesitate to write this review because I think there is some unexplained event at its base, but here goes. We stayed at the motel in room ** and were very satisfied. A beautiful location on the Canal and we had fun on the dock watching salmon jump. We came back, again having business in the area, and again enjoyed our stay. But shortly after getting back to Portland, we got an email saying were were being charged a "pet fee" of 40+ dollars. I called the motel and let them know that we don't have a pet of any kind and that we left the room at least as clean as we found it. The person on the motel end said that wasn't true, the room was a mess, with "urine soaked rags and other things". I said that couldn't have been our room; we are a 70's plus couple with no pets and reasonably meticulous habits. Asked for evidence, the person I talked with said she hadn't seen this but her cleaner had and she trusted the cleaner, clearly stating I was a liar. I said I wouldn't pay a pet charge without a pet, and have challenged the charge on my credit card, but they haven't done anything about removing it. So watch out. It is a well-situated, moderately well-equipped and clean. I will of course never stay there again, and I advise you not too unless you establish beforehand you have no pets and will not be liable for "pet fees".
