Dar Housnia

We took the whole 4 bedroom Riad, even though there were only 4 of us. Still great value. We got a cab from the airport and were dropped off a short walk from the Riad (through the busiest and craziest little alleyways - but it all added to the experience!) When the door opened into the Riad, we were bowled over by how peaceful and beautiful it is inside. There's a central courtyard with a huge palm tree in it and a sitting area. All the bedrooms are full of character and very comfortable. There's a small swimming pool and a lovely roof terrace where we had breakfast every day. We had 2 evening meals in the Riad and 2 others at local restaurants (La Terrace des Epices and +61 - both excellent and very different feel to each other. Try both - you won't be disappointed!). The Riad meals were delicious - fantastic fresh salads and bread with chicken and lemon tagline one night and lamb tagline the other. Followed by dessert. All cooked by the lovely Zineb. At a cost of around €30 euros a head, they were really Good value. The Riad is beautiful but the staff just make the whole experience wonderful. Abdu and Hamza are both charming and helpful and always on hand for whatever you need. All the housekeeping staff are smiley and keep the place spotlessly clean. You should be aware that the Riad does not have a licence to sell alcohol - something we were not aware of prior to arriving. Not a massive issue in the scheme of things really but worth knowing. Overall we had a fabulous time here and would highly recommend it, especially if you're looking for an authentic Moroccan experience.

Convenient location. I requested my room not be cleaned nor entered while I was gone for the day. The staff stated they would not enter my room. I come back to my clean clothes put on the stained couch, my jewelry box open and out with missing necklaces, my clean and dirty socks and underwear mixed together with two pairs of underwear missing, all contents of my bags on the table and couch. When I told the person that checked me in she said "oh well". Also the room I booked was not as depicted. The manager told me to F off when I brought it up to him. No locks on doors. The balcony of one room can see into the suite mogador bathroom (perfect view of bathtub) with no way to cover it. The couch has mystery stains on it. Don't go here unless you want to be disrespected and robbed.

Just returned from 6 days staying at Dar Housnia, in the Medina of Marrakesh. What a gem of a hotel. Tucked away down one of many of the Medina’s winding back streets. Dar Housina, is an oasis of calm tranquillity, but not more than a minute or two from the bustle of the vibrant colour of Marrakesh life, and the bonus of a convenient drop off and taxi pickup location of Place Moukef, handy for any evening restaurant excursions, or day trips away from the city. With the added benefit of a secluded plunge pool, the traditionally decorated rooms are comfortable,and offer plenty of private space to relax and unwind. With its own Hamman, and quiet massage room a treatment is hearty recommend. Along with a comfortable rooftop deck area, or courtyard dining room breakfast or dinner can be taken in either area, and compliments the fabulous Zineb’s traditional Moroccan cooking . During our time at the Riad, we actually dined on our own, one evening having the whole Riad to ourselves, it was like having our own private chef. Abdu, and Zinab looked after us fantastically. The sea bass was wonderful as were the traditional salads. All the staff are very nice and extremely helpful and we also had the pleasure of chatting with the owners during our stay, and sharing a glass of wine by the pool. A convenient location, Dar Housina is a great base to explore Marrakesh from, and is heartily recommended.

This traditional riad was very quaint and the staff is hospitable. The service was great, breakfast was delicious ( fresh squeezed OJ). The riad is tucked away off of a main road but any time we left at night Abdul would personally walk us to our taxi. Abdul was certainly the star of the show. Very friendly and always made sure we were taken care of, inside and outside of the Riad. We would come back solely for him alone

So if you want to be spoilt, feel some luxury in the sun then this is the place to come Staff welcome you with a smile, but i am sure this is a knowing smile as they wait for your reaction to seeing the place. You will love the wow factor of this little Riad, from the rooms to the pool to the roof top terraces Come here and get spoilt, then wander around the city (everyting within walking distance ) then be spoilt again Loved the pool area Owners just happened to be here when we came and they are a brilliant couple warm and welcoming Just visit and enjoy your time here
