Palais Namaskar is visually stunning, with classic Moroccan architecture and beautiful gardens. We booked a villa with a private pool, which was spacious and had great potential, but the property is clearly showing its age and urgently needs renovation. Doors didn’t open or close properly, the bathroom flooded easily, and there was visible mould in the pool. The TV was outdated at least 12 years old and not a smart TV, which is surprising for a so called 5-star hotel. The air conditioning in my room didn’t work, despite outside temperatures reaching 40°C, and even after reporting it, nothing was done to fix it. To make matters worse, the hotel only provides one 33cl bottle of water per guest in the room highly insufficient and not what you would expect from a luxury property. Service was another major disappointment. Orders were incomplete, cutlery and table settings arrived after the food, and while the Moroccan cuisine had a few highlights, most dishes were just average and lacked authenticity. The buffet was plain and nowhere near 5 star quality. Service was inconsistent some staff were polite and professional, but others were rude and acted as if guests were a nuisance. It often took two or three requests to get served, and sometimes you had to get up and fetch things yourself. The spa experience was particularly poor. Removing a simple shellac took three staff members two hours, and after 1.5 hours of drying, the nail polish was ruined anyway. I had a wedding to attend the next day but was refused nail polish for touch ups and only offered a rushed visit at 11:30 am, just before the event. The manicure was badly done, with uneven nails and even bleeding from my toes. When I asked for a refund, management refused and instead offered repeated touch-ups. In summary, while the hotel looks impressive and the villas are spacious, Palais Namaskar is far from a true 5 star experience. The lack of basic amenities, poor service, and outdated facilities make it feel more like a 2.5 star property. There is a lot of work to be done before it can be considered luxury accommodation.
