The place is overpriced for what it offers. There are no activities like kayaking or biking, and only a few very short trails. Coffee is available only until 10 a.m., after which there’s just water. The on-site shop has a limited selection of overpriced items. The bed was uncomfortable, the pillows felt old, and we could hear the neighbor snoring all night — overall, it was a terrible night’s sleep. The front desk staff, especially Laurie, was unfriendly and unhelpful, which made the experience even worse.. we went for the easter weekend and they didn't even offer something nice for easter.. overall a huge disappointment! Don’t go!

The Lodge at Marconi is an excellent hotel that is perfectly appointed and curated for a family/friend/business retreat in nature. The hotel itself is well decorated with a cozy retro cabin vibe, and is extremely comfortable. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the camp fire pit with s'mores was a huge hit with the kids. Wonderful location for a getaway into nature!

Great place. Super nice energy in a wooded location. Perfect for a little retreat, some me time, or being with friends. Fire pit with s'mores. Nice friendly staff. Be advised: yes, the walls are very thin. Not enough to make out conversations, but you do hear that people talking or walking on top of you. It's because of how these suites were originally built before it became a hotel (there's a lot of history in this place). Don't let it discourage you from visiting, though. It's a gorgeous property and very stylish.

Beware: the attitude of the staff at this hotel needs a lot of work. Read through some of the reviews and you will see a familiar pattern. I am surprised that ownership hasn't addressed this. I just checked out today and I experienced the same. 3/2/2025. I was in reception and overhead the general manager telling another guest that their sauna isn't working (for some reason they were telling everyone this while I was there--it was working fine). I chimed in that the sauna is in fact working and had used it myself the prior day. She replied: well IM THE GENERAL MANAGER, that's great you used it but I need to speak with the director of facilities before you can use it so it will be in the afternoon. The guest was checking out that morning and clearly disappointed. Then I asked to see if they could extend my checkout by 1 hour to 12:00pm ( I already knew the answer given how rude she was to me already). She replied: no, no late check outs today. Anything else? I was shocked at how rude she was. I have never experienced this before at any hotel. It left such a bad taste in my mouth that we left shortly thereafter. If you do decide to stay here be warned. I also suggest you ask for a refund on the amenity fee they charge if the only amenity that they offer is broken.

While the Lodge is in a serene setting, the scenery alone doesn’t make a memorable stay. Here’s what was memorable: 1. Earplugs: It is telling that the Lodge provides earplugs and white noise machines for use by guests. Both are needed ( and were used).Walls are paper thin!! The Lodge advertises that“… Our hope is that your stay with us will be a time to immerse yourself in a serene and peaceful atmosphere” HA! Maybe outdoors but not in the room! 2. ANTS: we moved the wooden tray on the sink that held washcloths and ants came out. On the small stand in the room, thereto ants abounded. (We knew the Lodge didn’t offer breakfast so we brought our own pastries- only to have to toss out the pastries the next morning as they were covered in ants (tried to attach a video of pastry with ants crawling, could only attach photo which still shows ants) 3. Storage: not a hanger or hook to be found in the room. Where is one expected to hang a coat (or even a wet towel?) 4. Barn Door handle missing: so the barn door glides easy to close off bathroom from bedroom area, yet there’s no handle from the bathroom side to open the barn door. It appears it’s been removed- which makes it really hard to open the door 5.”Experience Fee” of $25/night, that supposedly is to elevate our experience with amenities such as “…a cold beverage to welcome you at check-in “ - ok so there WAS water available, to “….priority access to our on-site sauna…” sauna was out of order (yes, they DID provide earplugs to attempt to dampen the noise from the adjoining rooms) 6. Reading lights. One headboard light- how is the other partner supposed to read?!

The design of the place is excellent. Despite being on the first floor and the rooms are on the smaller size it felt like everything was maximized. Amazing views and beautiful space. Will try to take the kids here when everything is restored.

Wonderfully designed rooms and common spaces. We stayed in the king bed with twin loft room. Coffee, delicious tea and a tea kettle in the rooms. Cosy bathrobes. Fantastic fire pit. The first night we bought a pint of ice cream in the lodge & sat by the fire. Lodge has water refill station, coffee bar, great selection of snacks + salads. Easy walking trails on the property. You almost don't need to leave. Highly recommend and will be returning soon.

My brother held his wedding at this venue. They chose the area because of the beautiful views, the fact that they can hold all the activities on-site and the funky rustic nature of the place. We were able to have the ceremony on Tower Hill, a cocktail hour outside Buck Hall and a reception with dinner at Buck Hall. Those all went pretty smoothly after working around a few things-- very cold rooms with inefficient heaters, unfriendly front-desk staff, no restaurants and little food available on-site, and inconvenient shuffling of people up and down the hill (which was very relevant for the wedding). [see more details below) ----- Transportation was an issue up and down the hill. We were informed that there would be golf carts available to drive people up and down as needed. I never saw the golf cart drive around even once. It was NOT available and we had to drive ourselves instead. This required a lot of shuffling, assigning designated drivers, etc. Many people ended up walking up unlit paths or up the steep road that broke strappy sandals and high heels. It was not convenient and not physically possible for some. The most memorable thing that tainted our entire experience of the place-- is the lady at the front desk. From the very beginning, you get a sense that she doesn't really care or want to help with anything. She had no helpful information on the events for the wedding, no information about the restaurant on-site (which was never open when we were there). The smiles are fake, the warmth is absent. She was not accommodating, kind or helpful in any sense. Maybe she doesn't like people or maybe she just doesn't like her job. As the only point-person for our entire visit, she made a horrible impression. Booking things online is difficult. My father, the father of the groom, booked one night, then went back and booked a second night. This unknowingly moved my parents to a separate room. They were forced to check out, move everything and check in again just before the wedding ceremony. This was difficult as my mother is limited with her mobility. The front-desk lady was rude, not accommodating and very blunt. No compensation or help was offered. The rooms are cold and heaters don't work well. We were freezing and had to wear a lot of clothes. We did not come prepared for this (and we live in San Francisco, so are used to this weather). The windows are single-paned and do not insulate well. The heaters are small ones at the baseboards and are inefficient. Amenities: absolutely lacking given the price of the hotel. Being so isolated, it should have a restaurant on site that IS OPEN for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Where is the jacuzzi, the free breakfast, an available restaurant on site, and kind and helpful front desk staff? Absent on all accounts. Changes need to be made to truly make this place successful.

Horrible wedding venue! NO accommodation for elderly nor handicapped. Lodge rooms were modern rustic but were very cold and the baseboard heating did not warm up the rooms. No microwave, no restaurant, no room service, no way to eat at hotel. Long, uneven staircases to all rooms. They made us, the groom's elderly parents, change rooms 3 hours before the wedding, claiming that we had purposely booked 2 different types of rooms for the 2 nights. (We booked over 6 months in advance. You would think they would have asked if there was a question about the rooms.) Horrible service. Nobody to help with luggage, no luggage carts, WAY overpriced. We paid $327 per night for a King bed AND for a smaller room with 2 queens. Expensive "instant" foods like oatmeal cost $12 each in a paper cup. No real activities nor things to do other than walking around their property. No other activities nor restaurants nearby. No TVs anywhere. We DO NOT RECOMMEND Lodge at Marconi.
