Whimsical Woodland Cottage in Stone Ridge NY

Quaint and quiet Whimsical cottage was just as described. The owner was very responsive with any questions. The location was perfect for our needs. It is definitely meant for a couples weekend away, but was sufficient for the three of us.

A cozy, rustic place for two My husband and adult son stayed here for a Hudson Valley holiday. This place is truly perfect for 2 people for a lovely getaway. Would have loved to be here in warmer weather to enjoy the front porch and firepit. It is decorated adorably. Best highlights: owner quick to respond, very comfy beds and cozy, warm gas fireplace. Just know that it is rustic cabin-like, so if you’re seeking more upscale then recommend other places. No shades except in the bedroom, no closet/dresser/place to hang or fold clothes. Bring bottled water and extra utensils and a travel coffee pot. We brought our pitcher to filter water but was still cloudy and sulfuric. Bring a couple of good skillets. The shower is very cramped and dark. Bring slippers as there is no central heat, just individual heaters per room and the floors are cold--plus slippers help you safely navigate the slippery loft ladder (not recommended for kids). Scope out a trash dumpster on the way home (like we did) as will need to take your trash with you (can’t take to town dump unless you buy a permit). These tips will make it a bit better. All in all, a comfy, rustic place for just two.
