Hotel Madhuvan Serai

Positives - spacious room, reasonable A/C, bottle of water in room at checkin, rooms appeared clean Negatives - minimal hot water for bathing, uncomfortable bed, noisy (!!!), promised complementary breakfast was minimalistic and largely inedible, promised 'toiletries' = bar of soap only, internet frequently interrupted, many staff couldn't seem to answer questions, power interruptsion occurred frequently during my stay. Overall, the 3-star rating is a farce (fair = 2-star). This is not a high end hotel, not even mid-level. The online reviews appear to have been written by the hotel itself because what I wrote above was agreed to by others with whom I spoke. I've been in worse hotels, but

Stayed here as part of a small tour group. Rooms were very comfortable. Great shower. Restaurant offered quite an extensive Indian menu. Also some Chinese dishes. Food was very good but service in restaurant was very mixed. Hotel was reasonably priced and majority of guests were either visiting Udopi or on courses with the Banks nearby.

Comfortable hotel in the heart of manipal with pleasant comfortable rooms, tasty vegetarian buffet breakfast and good views from the balcony. Also boasts of a good non-vegetarian restaurant.

We stayed in room number 205 for 1 night. As soon as we entered it scent was bad, like old linen and improper ventilated room. However there are some positives like the room was spacious suitable for family stay. The staff is courteous. The veg restaurant was good and the food was tasted excellent. There are some suggestions to the management like the lighting in the washroom needs improvement the floor mat at washroom door needs replacement with better quality the cots definitely needs replacement to give good look to the bed though the management followed village theme, the colour of the walls were too flashy the management is trying good but still more attention to small details are required

The room was big enough for my family to stay comfortably for 3 days. Breakfast was good and they have dosai, poori items made after our order. I had a flat tire and the staff arranged a local tire repair person to fix on the spot. Will highly recommend it for families.
