Banjaar Tola Kanha National Park - A Taj Safari Lodge

What a fantastic experience. Peace and tranquillity, superb location, superb accommodation, superb food and superb staff. Special mention to Sangita, our naturalist, whose enthusiasm for wildlife and nature knows no bounds and to Rajkumar, our butler, who made sure our stay was unforgettable. Yes the wifi is dodgy as some reviewers have pointed out, but it is a small price to pay for 3 days when you are in such a fantastic environment and we got to see Tigers!

We had a wonderful experience at Taj Banjaar Tola--principally because our naturalist, Priyanka, was so superb. She and the other guides are passionate about what they do, so knowledgeable and well educated and so enthusiastic about the whole range of flora and fauna present in the park. The hotel property is well situated for access to the park and very pretty, set ***** the Banjaar river. The staff are excellent and eager to please and the food is very good. Our room was huge and had a lovely deck and was very comfortable.

We stayed at Taj Banjar Tola between Dec 14-21. We were traveling with a 10m old baby and hence were apprehensive of planning this trip. On arrival, our worries became stronger when we found that the usual kid friendly options like high-chair in the restaurant or play area, were notably absent. However the thoughtfulness and warmth of the entire staff more than made up for this and we ended up having a very memorable stay! We will certainly return once our child is a little older Sharing a few callouts: Ashutosh, Rajkumar, Pappu, Karan from the restaurant, butler teams who were very helpful with every aspect of the stay and very caring of the baby Chef Rahul for a lip smacking menu. The restaurant team had a mastery of all types of cuisine, which was amazing. Special thanks for making kid friendly, tasty options for our 10m old Dasarath from the security team for escorting us on the walks Abhishek for the interesting nature walks and tiger safari. His instincts helped us spot a tiger in the first safari! He was so thoughtful of our requirements in planning every detail Subhay for helping us secure a last min permit for the tiger safari

This place is an excellent example of luxury within nature.surrounded by forest ,this place has a surreal aura about it…everything is perfect except for those who wants connectivity with outer world.no mobile or internet connectivity is available here except WiFi at the common place

The hotel beautiful and the tents with all you can need and more considering you are in the wild, luxury really. The food first class, but the people you will always remember. You feel real love in all they do. The forest so beautiful that if you do not see tigers you are not disapointed, but we saw a lot of tigers so close we could touch them. Thanks to all the staff, especially to the Chef and to Ashu.

We stayed at two resorts during our visit to Kanha. Taj Banjaar Tola was by far our favorite. Booking the property was difficult since the Taj Safaris' International office (or whatever that's called) simply wouldn't pick up our calls or call us back/respond to emails/chats. This is one area that needs serious improvement. We had to book via a travel agency, that didn't turn out to be that great. But once we were 'care of Taj', everything was great! We arrived at Taj Banjaar Tola with a bad allergy. Mr. Karan in the kitchen sensed my misery and immediately made us hot toddy. It was repeated during every meal we had, and I can't explain how grateful we were for that drink which made us feel better and helped us recover! But the great experience started prior to our arrival. We had a call with Mr.Venkatesh who asked us about our food preferences and restrictions. All the food during our stay was exactly how we wanted it - homely and healthy. One day when I was craving kabaabs, Chef Nim made sure I had it! In the dining area, the other Karan and Ashutosh were also very kind and made sure we had everything we needed. The safaris were extremely comfortable in the resort vehicle. I am an amateur wildlife photographer and travel with a lot of gear. The large vehicle made it possible for us to travel in comfort. It was also prepped with warm blankets and hot water bags, which were much appreciated in the biting cold of the Kanha mornings. The guides assigned by the Forest Department are a hit or miss in Kanha. We had some excellent guides and some who were - to put it mildly - terrible. Having a naturalist made sure that we had a terrific, wholesome, jungle experience. Our naturalist was the extremely knowledgeable, mild-mannered Aabhas. He not just took care of our animal viewing experience and found me the best angles, but also took care of us like family. We did meet other naturalists at the camp too and they were all fabulous! Staying at Taj Banjaar Tola means that your jungle breakfast experience comes with not just excellent food (frankly not the biggest priority for us, but the food was exceptional) but also clean toilets. Now, the property. We stayed in the East camp. Our tent was very comfortable, and had heating and air-conditioning. Sorry, I know we're supposed to be in the jungle and all that, but I do appreciate climate controlled accommodation in places that can get extremely cold. I could not have done without the heat in Kanha! Thank you Taj Banjaar Tola. Just one little thing - please update your tents. They're dated and full of chunky art pieces and furniture that take up a lot of valuable real estate within the tent. Another chair, or a sofa would be great. Repairing the bathroom floor would also be appreciated. Our tent was gorgeous, the view (of the river and the core zone) even more so.
