Summary of my thoughts/experience of this hotel:- On arrival we went to the restaurant by accident & the restaurant manager kindly carried my large suitcase downstairs to reception. Its a small hotel so it seems that all staff members are happy to help and that was lovely to see. Check in was prompt, friendly, efficient. Daniel had called me a week prior to confirm and he was there to greet us in person, so that was a personal touch. He directed us to Monastery. He also permitted us to check in at 11am which is earlier than many hotels would, which was nice for us. RATINGS (10 out of 10 is the best and 1 is the worst):- BATHROOM Toilet - 10 Shower - 10 Sink - 10 We had two rooms with two bathrooms and both bathrooms were in excellent working condition. ROOMS: Room ambience - stunning views of mountains, double balcony. 9/10. Bed comfort - 2 double-beds. 10/10. Room comfort - 9/10. Breakfast - a la carte. not many options, but they swapped the ham for beef. Good service. Stunning views from the breakfast terrace. 6/10 Dinner - good service. Restaurant manager kindly replaced bacon for chicken at no extra charge as we ordered a wrong dish by mistake. 10/10 All the staff seemed caring and warm and cared about Hotel which I think is very special. I loved the view from our 2 rooms and view from breakfast/inner terrace. Highly recommend.

Quite possibly the most stunning view from any hotel room we’ve ever stayed in. We spent 2 days here as our initial destination on a trip around Montenegro and it was a wonderful first stop. Their website really doesn’t so them justice. The drive from Dubrovnik airport to Hotel Sokoline took approximately 4 hours but the end result was more than worth it. We used Google maps to navigate our way and it took us via the M6 and E762 and then onto a local road, but if you have the choice don ‘t approach the hotel from the north come from the south along the New Road from Danilovgrad. The road from the north is not for the faint hearted – being a mass of hairpin bends with no barriers between you, your car and the (stunning) thousand foot drop on your right. The road is just about wide enough for two cars but not necessarily their wing mirrors. Unless you’ve packed extra pants approach from the south! We stayed in Room 8. It was well kept, clean and comfortable. It had its own private balcony and the view, as we said was stunning (see photos). Towels, toiletries and bottled water were provided as would be expected. Good car parking. Lower Ostrog monastery is 10 minutes down the road – free parking. We wouldn't recommend driving up to the higher monastery, walk it if you want to go there – it can be a busy road, especially given its size. The place does seems to be quieter in the afternoon. The hotel is extremely remote – which is what we wanted. There is nowhere else to eat unless you want to drive for 15 – 20 mins. However, the food at the hotel was good and reasonably priced - ＜10 euros for a main course and good friendly service. The staff were really lovely, very thoughtful and helpful. English was not a strength, but they tried and we found a way through ! If we get the opportunity, we’ll be back... approaching from the south or wearing parachutes!

This hotel is ideally located for those making the trip to visit the Ostrog Monastery, or just breaking up a drive across Montenegro. It's easy to drive to, and there is ample free parking. The drive from the hotel to the monastery is only about 10 minutes, including the narrow winding road to the parking area at the Monastery! The hotel is far from any other town/attraction but this is not a concern given the monastery is the main sight to see here. The room had amazing views over the valley below with stunning sunset behind the ridge on the other side. The terrace was nice, however in the morning we discovered a cat had urinated on the chairs overnight. The bed is very hard, which was the principle reason we did not rate it higher. There is no kettle in the room, but there is a fridge. The restaurant here is very good! We ate a great meal with some very good recommendations from the staff on traditional Montenegran food. Breakfast was equally good, and was included in the room rate. We would definitely choose to stay here again if returning to this area of Montenegro.

Spent one night here and what fabulous views from the balcony and restaurant. Very friendly small hotel, with lovely breakfast and brilliant dinner out in the open. A perfect stop after visit to Ostrog Monastery. Would highly recommend hotel.

Amazing hotel, with lovely kind caring staff. A special thanks to Jovan and Ancor and all the waiters who made my stay so special. Beautiful views from my room. Maybe a 30 mins brisk walk to the monastery, which is amazing. Frèsh good, the pasta was delicious! Would recommend to everyone!
