Osteiner Hof by the Apartment Suite

Fantastic apartment in Mainz. Super luxurious, spacious and well equipped and so close to all the sights in Mainz which is a great city to visit. A special mention to Marko who looked after us so well. I’d make a special trip to visit here in the future. Highly recommended.

Biggest rip off in 20 years of *********** No WiFi in bedroom and living area and poor WiFi in kitchen. Read other reviews which support these comments Cheapest equipment throughout.toaster, kettle etc TV awful and no evidence of cable channrls No microwave as advertised Mould in bathroom Trams pass every 10 minutes and through the night shaking house. Too bad if you are a light sleeper Poor instructions to gain entry Keys don't always work Only three kiddies coat hangers for 2 people for a week joke pillows - like marshmallows No shower gel or washing up liquid Dead bug in utensil jar Staff asked for cash to change sheets - we were staying for a week. Customer service awful *********** didn't help either as the manager said "no one else has complained" I have never given this low a marking but these people are profiteering Location is good

I have just returned from the Osteiner Hof in Mainz where I stayed for a week in the Bremen apartment with my wife. Whilst the location was excellent the apartment was very small. As you come in the door there is a small toilet and wash basin immediately to the right and a 4 inch step up to the rest of the apartment which you had to be aware of. My wife did manage to trip on one occasion. There is a Chaise Longue stuck in an alcove which is the only place to sit comfortably alone or side by side if you have a partner. No arm chairs. The kitchen is reasonably fitted out and there is a high table with 3 high bar stools which if you are small or elderly can be a problem. Leading off the kitchen is a small shower room which you have to manoeuvre into a corner to close the door. The shower is good though. The bedroom is a reasonable size and has a wardrobe. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were large square things which were impossible to sleep on, for us anyway. The windows were a good 7 feet up so no view. For almost a thousand pounds a bit pricey and more suited for a weekend rather than a week.

+. The location is unbeatable. - The “apartment” however which is a bedroom with a small kitchenette could need some improvement. Too dark, sparsely furnished and a window so high that you need a chair to open and close. The tram rattles by every five minutes which makes the place shake. Unfortunately also very poor internet!

Straight out of a fairytale! An amazing place! Beautiful, clean and overall a very nice place to stay at. Overlooking the city and a beautiful garden. Check-in and communication with the host was perfect. Definitely will be back next time I'm in Mainz!

A lovely building with a real wow factor. The apartment itself was immaculate, well equipped and a real pleasure to return to at the end of a day's sightseeing. Perfectly located for restarants, shops, trams and markets. Stefan couldn't have done more to help us change our arrangements at the very last minute due to Covid (thanks!). Marco also made us feel very welcome and at home and it was good to know he was on hand although we didn't need him at all.
