the food is very bad

Where do I begin. A week from hell. I go to Turkey every year and never experienced anything like it. Firstly, I booked a package holiday with love holidays. The transfer stated it would take 2 hours yet took 5 hours. The driver was falling asleep at the wheel, had so many near misses and he didn’t know where he was going. When arriving to the hotel I wasn’t greeted with any respect. Erol was working on reception and was so unprofessional and spoke to us with no respect and slammed a piece of paper infront of me which stated that our travel agency hadn’t paid the hotel therefore we could not stay and had to pay. At this moment in time he hadn’t even asked for our names or any booking information, this was also prior to love holidays announcing their third part holiday had claimed involvecy. I’m not sure if this was because we was English as another couple that came and checked in wasn’t English and had booked with love holidays and checked in with no problems. I flew from the UK and another couple was on our transfer. Luckily I had all my booking information and confirmation of details on me as I proved I had paid etc. unlike the couple that was on our flight they didn’t have any documents on them and their phone had died. Erol then suddenly found my booking information and checked us in. Unlike the other couple that was on the same flight he told them to leave and they wasn’t welcomed as they needed to pay a fee. He then refused to let them in. We then had 4 power cuts in less than 24 hours. You don’t have any drinks in your room fridge unlike other 5* hotels. You have to pay to use their towels. They only have one bar and soft drinks are poured from bottles and not on draft. The food is shocking, luckily we found an amazing restaurant called Jacks that was a 10/15 min walk away and they was so welcoming and the food was amazing there unfortunately we only found this restaurant on our last few days. The food in the actual hotel was a disgrace and not much to choose from, I felt I lived off rice and bread. Entertainment was poor and majority of staff didn’t speak good english.

my experience in the hotel was really good and especially the worker his name was innocent he was really helpful and kind with our stay here , the hotel is also really nearby the beach and really good entertainment and also really good games to play with family and really good hygiene

The hotel is nice looking ,nice rooms with views ,pool ,entertainment was good, service was good and animation team were good, only gripe was the food they need to do more for western people expecially children , apart feom that a good hotel had a nice relaxing time

The food was amazing with all the different kinds of sweets, the animators were awesome. Had so much fun by the pool with free drinks. The hotel has a mesmerizing view of the sea. Also the kids’ animators were so much fun. I certainly would come back. 100% recommend staying here.

Following on from my previous review… I forgot to mention that SUNSTAR Resort also have entertainment every evening for all the family so whether you’re travelling alone or with the kids The SunStar is the place to be as it has facilities for everyone and accommodates all who stay there. Thanks again SunStar. You’re the best, so my fellow travellers please don’t settle for any less.

Lovely clean, comfortable, air conditioned rooms, 2 litre bottled water provided everyday. Plenty food and drink. I wouldn't say it was 5 star quality admittedly but I enjoyed the evening meals and bread rolls were always fresh and tasty. Beautiful pool area with plenty sun loungers. Whole hotel definitely needs a bit of TLC, but people leaving these hideous reviews had me terrified before I went. I have had a fabulous holiday, all the staff work hard and were friendly/approachable. I loved my holiday but if you're expecting completely luxury with everything you could wish for then maybe this not the place for you....However, if you're after a nice, all inclusive place with clean comfortable rooms, plenty food and drink and a lovely pool at a reasonable price then this is the place for you!

Decent hotel quality and decent restaurant definitely not 5 star. Unfortunately while I stayed there the hotel was very busy people would give you odd looks and bump into you everywhere. Only one restaurant is open and actually serves food. Getting your food is a nightmare long queues and people stall getting there food which holds up everybody else. Room service is basic and they did give me dirty towels they also did not clean the room fully they do give you a free large bottle of water though. The tour guide with the hotel tries to rip you off charging double prices then you can get online. I also had to complain a few times about noisy guests staying next door which I don’t know if they actually did anything about it. While I was staying there it seems someone was playing with the lifts as it would suddenly get called whenever you needed it also a few times someone had already pushed the buttons on the lift so it would stop at different floors. You also need to be careful about other people entering your room as people were trying my door handle at random times in the night. The lights in the hallway are motion activated and always cut off so you are stood in the dark sometimes. The plumbing makes a huge gurgling sound at night sounds like a vacuum cleaner. Overall the staff struggle to manage this hotel properly they have no control over what is going on with the lifts, the restaurant is in disorder, and hotel guests run wild. Although another explanation is they have full control over the hotel and like it that way. Either way I found the staff discourteous and unhelpful and the other guests who were staying with me at the time as blunt buffoons who had zero manners and would actively annoy me.

On entering this hotel you can see that it has never been a five-star hotel. Reception staff try their best to be helpful. The nicotine stained, peeling wall paper in puɓlic areas needs an overall. Stained carpets that need a good clean. Ripped and stained sofas in the lobby. Feral flea bitten cats roam around inside and out of the hotel. The spa staff are attentive and give a great deal of care to clients by providing a good clean spa. In door pool was out of order and had a stagnant look about it. Careful if using the starshas the carpet is loose and could easily cause trips and falls. Basic cleanliness is an issue with the bars and dining room. Dirty glasses, plates and cutlery all being presented for use. Table cloths that are clean and white but could do with an iron running over them are changed in between each use of the tables. Very busy staff clearing tables . All seem very young working very hard but with out direction. The presentation of table, staff and food is very poor. Staff wear their own clothes making it difficult to know who is staff and this looks very unprofessional. The food is awful with names of dishes are wrote on corners of ripped note paper. The most prepared dish for the consumption of guests is braised heart. It is on every meal dishes are all tepid at best. Nothing is hot that seems it should be. All meals are badly presented and if it isn't eat at one meal it is given to be eaten at the next meal. Broccoli for breakfast? The grills smell like they need a good clean has well has changing their oil has it stinks. The pool furniture could do with a good jet was from time to time. Tables on terrace and out door areas are left dirty and sticky. The entertainment is bland and the over all atmosphere is decidedly soviet block. The rooms are attended by the most hard working maids. Who do the very best with what they have available. Bedding is crisp and fresh but a little fabric softner would go a long way when the laundering. Mattresses are like rock hard but rooms are clean and kept so by these lovely ladies every day. The one high light in the stay is I will go home weighing a lot less than I arrived. Taxi are not overly priced into the town . Harbour area is a pleasant and pretty walk. The weather can not be faulted. I recommend Turkey as a place to visit just not in this hotel that smells constantly of cigarette smoke.
