Mahdia Beach & Aqua Park

Whole hotel dated & run down. Looks nothing like the pictures provided, they must have been taken 20 years ago when the four stars were awarded. The whole place genuinely looks as though it was abandoned for years and has only recently reopened with very little maintenance done in between. I would struggle to give the hotel 2 stars after our stay. Hotel review: Front door smashed and missing. Whole hotel dated & run down. Very rude, abrupt, patronising & short tempered man on reception. Broken tiles & stained floors everywhere. Feral cats sleeping on indoor furniture & begging at your feet during meal service. We found one sleeping on our bed after the cleaner had been. My wife is allergic so this is a cleanliness & safety issue also. The room is dated & run down. Rickety, old furniture & curtains hanging off rails. Shower & bidet both leaked onto the floor. We had to share a bath plug with fellow guests. Massive cockroaches seen in the hallway outside our room. Discarded mattresses seen on the hotel roof out of windows in the hallway. Cleaner let herself into our room without knocking whilst I was using the bathroom. She saw me & threw a towel on the floor and left. We saw one man standing on a window ledge three stories up cleaning a window with no safety equipment. All outdoor facilities were shut except the main pool. No waterpark, bars/restaurants or terraces open outside. Main pool was dirty & slimy with missing tiles. My daughter cut her feet on several occasions. The pool cleaner kept asking me to go in & fetch leaves from the bottom for him. He took four or five days to do a job I could have done in half a day. And it was still slimy. The lifeguard had to spend time moving between both pools, often couldn't be seen at all, & sat around on his phone if he was there at all. Sun-beds covered in bird poo. Umbrellas held up with rusty nails, some had nothing to hold them up. The walkways around the pool were left covered in mud from the gardeners who were laying turf. The indoor pool also has missing tiles, slime running down the walls, plants growing in the ceiling, limescale covered dirty windows & dated unsightly shower facility. The floor was always wet & dangerously slippery. The floors around the hotel are constantly wet from mopping, not a wet floor sign in sight. They are dangerously slippery. We all nearly slipped over constantly. My wife is heavily pregnant & if she slipped over this would be a huge safety issue. The mops they use to clean the floors smell bad. The food is bland, often cold & had very little selection. There is a microwave to reheat your food. Bread often stale. There would be food left on the floor in the morning from the dinner service the night before. Some foods not consumed in the previous service was often re-served at the next one. Canteen smells horrible when open. Often no food service between meals leading to having to buy snacks at the overpriced shop, which often had no change availa

the staff was so so lovely! very kind people the hotel was very clean a lovely environment. entertainment was amazing. there was a wide range of food selection so you won’t have any issues. the rooms are beautiful very spacious will be coming back again soon.

What a hotel!! We as a family loved every minute of our stay. The hotel is spacious, very clean, and the staff are all very helpful and nothing os too much trouble. There was plenty to choose from when dining, from traditional to intercontinental food. The snack bar choices were donuts, hotdogs, and the choice of drinks where amazing. The private beach was clean, and the entertainment was phenomenally good. New Years Eve party was the best I'd ever been to. The 5 course dinner, entertainment, and the organising was perfect. Just a massive thank you to the staff, the cleaners, to the management for a brilliant stay.

Worst hotel we have ever been to. Never seen a 4*. Not actually spoken to anyone who would return. Everyone can't wait to leave and some guests getting early flights. No kettles to make baby bottles go buy one was their answer. Hotel dirty. Rooms not cleaned, only make beds. I've had to ask for fresh towels and toilet rolls daily. Son got told off for not wearing a t shirt 8 years old when all other guests don't have tops on. Indoor pool roof falling into pool cutting kids but managers answer was it's not dangerous or harmful. Several people have been injured with it. New years eve was a unorganised disaster. Food is the same every day. Best part of this will be the transfer to airport.

the bar and my girls were having a laugh with their dad and alls you got was the elderly looking back as if to say be quiet. First day was in the indoor pool and got told by a elderly women to quieten the kids down obviously was exited being in a pool on their first holiday. We felt like we couldn’t do much as there was limited things to do no staff interacted or had a laugh with you, in the end the last night we went and booked another hotel 7 minutes away for the night and the experience we had that 1 night beat the 6 we have had in mahdia beach. Defiantly avoid this hotel ESPECIALLY WITH CHILDREN. Only good thing we got from it was our professional photos we got off the 2 guys which was AMAZING. Food isn’t that good not much to choose from. Shows on the info they have a laundry, dry cleaner, evening entertainment, and free high spew internet which is the slowest thing ever they don’t… people sit and smoke in the reception area… and also avoid the bird with a man on the beach he charges you for taking own pictures of the bird on your phone and also takes it off you to take them himself and stands clicking it loads to charge you 10 dinar for each picture he’s just took, wouldn’t recommend and will not be coming back.

Arrived boxing day. Yes the activity is limited as its out if season. But the animation team cannot do enough for you. The weather isn't great, you do need to wear an hoodie. There is an indoor pool. Not much u can do on the outside. The NEW YEAR EVE gala dinner the hotel put on was outstanding. What a night, what a celebration sheebor was absolutely fantastic with my family. Definitely recommend this hotel. The slides are closed as this is out of season. But the food is all day long and the bar is 24/7 rooms are okay. Family ones are quite big..
