TownePlace Suites Macon Mercer University

We immensely enjoyed our stay at TownePlace near Mercer. We are traveling to meet up with family in St Augustine with our puppy and Ms Barbara at the counter was so sweet and accommodating. Gave good suggestions for dinner and recognized that our pup is the baby … we are new to empty nesting. The hotel is just 2 miles from town and a much more economical choice, if you are just passing through. Macon is a cute, walkable town. We enjoyed dinner at the Dovetail. We will stay again!

Would have given hotel 5* if it werent under renovation. Breakfast room under renovation, so food served in conference room seemed very sparse compared to what ive seen in other towneplace suites. Sushi , pizza shops and a few other restaurants are practically across the parking lot. I didnt move my car; i just walked over. The sushi was fine. My room on floor 4 seemed brand new; they are remodeling the rooms one floor at a time. They are working on floor 2 now; full of dropcloths and spackle.

We stayed here for Mercer’s Parents Weekend and loved how convenient it was to walk to the football game. There are several places to eat also within walking distance. Breakfast is included which was nice and the room was very spacious!

This place was wonderful, the staff was super friendly and helpful. We were greeted when we walked through the door. We didn’t have a reservation and we asked to look at the room before committed to stay which they were happy to do. Our room was clean and spacious. The room had a nice size refrigerator, dishwasher,a two eye stove top, dishes, pots and silverware. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good, there was cheese omelette, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, several cereals to choose from, muffins, pastries, Poptarts, yogurt and bananas and oranges. There was several beverages to choose from coffee, milk, juice. They had hot coffee available all day which was nice. The price was very reasonable. Would stay here again.

We booked this hotel just passing through on our way South. The hotel was very clean and nice. The staff was great! Very friendly and very helpful! We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

One of the best stays I have had in a very long time. Super clean, super pet friendly, great breakfast and those Marriott beds! Carol at the front desk is a super star took care of us and our dog and made us feel at home. Please thank her again for us. We will be back! Carol

i really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. the room was comfy and large. the location was excellent. the staff were extremely friendly. when i had a little trouble finding it they kindly guided me in. it was well worth the cost to stay there.

Platinum Elite Reward Member arrived late parched after an 8 hour drive. Asked the woman at the front desk for some water and she refused and said no amenities came with Platinum Elite. She sent me across the lobby searching in vain for a trash can. Nice young gentleman at desk intervened and took the garbage. Asked me twice if I had a dog after I told her no the first time. Parking lot was sketchy in part because some of the lights on the sign letters at the top of the building were out—not welcoming and made it look like the property was not cared for. Beat-up van with clothes hanging off the door handles. Heard noise from other rooms including slamming doors and pounding on the ceiling. The walls were dirty with food particles on the kitchen walls and scuff marks. In fairness, the bathroom and bedding were clean. The dog yard looked nice if you have one. Will not stay here again.

I was really pleased with my stay at Towneplace Inn and Suites. I was there for business on campus and it was a brutally busy week. What a relief it was to come back to a spacious suite with a full-sized refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, dishwasher, and even silverware. The beds were comfortable, the television nicely mounted, and everything was sanitized. They even left a sanitizing wipe, which I used to wipe down the remote myself. This small action let me know that my room had been thoroughly cleaned. I’ll be blunt: nothing in that hotel suite felt sticky, greasy, dusty, or slimy. I can’t say that about every hotel I’ve stayed in. I was thoroughly impressed. The pool is lovely. I love an outdoor pool in the summer and they’re difficult to find nowadays. I enjoyed many trips to the clean and modern pool area. Lastly, the staff was wonderful. Everyone was courteous and helpful. They even said hello in the halls and seemed genuinely happy to engage with guests. The only thing that wasn’t stellar was the hot breakfast. There was, however, good fresh coffee and cellophane-wrapped scones (I assume from a local bakery because they were actually delicious) available each morning for a grab-and-go meal. I will 100% stay here again.
