Bosuns Chair

Probably not the most in-depth review The Bosuns Chair has ever received. However, I thought I would have a day out in Lymington. Came in the summer by train, very pleasant. It's a long, long journey from Creekmoor by bus when rail maintenance is being carried out. Add in its winter, so it's cold, and after a while I was feeling my over 80 years. A warming drink was needed. Came across this pub/hotel by chance. The bar area was immaculate. The staff were friendly, and the latte was a life saver. I have read some of the reviews, all good. So in the greater scheme of things, this review doesn't cover a lot. But get the basics right and your most of the way there. My thanks ladies.

Quite nice ambience but the empty bottles are collected at 6am shattering the morning peace, what are you doing!!!! The brisket taco is the wordy micro waved meal in existence, actually regretted eating it. Staff very nice but I’m afraid some bad management makes this somewhere I will not re visit

Had an excellent stay here with a group of friends. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. We had a mixture of rooms from single to deluxe double. All rooms were well kitted out with comfy beds and a great selection of towels. The doubles were large and spacious with the addition of coffee machines and more toiletries. Food was excellent all round, we had a light snack for lunch when we arrived, it was well above your standard ‘pub grub’. The breakfast was superb with a great selection of freshly cooked ‘main’ options, particular call out to the eggs which were poached to perfection. Great location being a short walk from the quay and high street. Couple of recommendations – 1. The railway station is at the end of the street and traffic could be heard (though not excessive) from the rooms at the front 2. Due to the nature of the building the stairs are quite narrow, so anyone slightly less mobile might wish to request a first-floor room

We were three hungry and thirsty sailors in need of a good meal and a few beers and The Bosun's Chair gave us exactly what we wanted. The place was bright and clean, the service at the bar and at the table was first class, there was a good choice of beers and real ales and the food was delicious. Our steaks were served on a hot slab so we could cook them at the table to the way we liked them which was a nice touch. Full marks to Kaylee who looked after us for the evening. The warm welcome and friendly service was very much appreciated. We'll be back next time we sail into Lymington.

The staff are great and vey welcoming - the room was great, very clean and tidy. The breakfast was very nice and well presented. Nice central location. We will definitely stay here again when visiting Lymington. Thanks to everyone at the Bosuns Chair

We booked a short break in Lymington at short notice and were pleased with this pub with rooms. It is only a few minutes walk from the town centre where you can find many restaurants. It has a good sized free car park and is also near the railway station. Our room was fine with a large bathroom with a full sized bath.
