Leaside Hotel

On arrival, hotel site was not as expected compared to website pictures - quite run down on approach and outside the hotel. Bar and restaurant were not available either as closed. Room was quite lovely with a large en suite and sunken bath and nice bath products. Door was faulty however. Breakfast was served just outside the room (which was different but convenient). Such a shame as a wonderful venue which could offer so much more but I guess this is a sign of the times with a lack of clientele. Felt more like a B&B. Sadly, false advertising.

We went there yesterday, myself and some friends. Really lovely food. Friendly staff and a good range of drinks and cocktails. Lovely variety of Mediterranean Food but they do steaks and pizza aswell aswell. All the food looked and tasted lovely. The prices were very reasonable as well. I highly recommend a visit.

I have never felt so compelled to write a review for a business before but this trip to The Leaside was just crazy and so lovely. The decor is just mental. I absolutely loved it. We came in for lunch and we’re sat in the bar kind of area to the right. It’s definitely changed quite a bit. Made for some great conversation :) Me and my partner both had a roast platter which was absolutely amazing. Everything was cooked great and there was plenty of it. We also got very generously given our wine for free as we had been waiting a wee while. Which was crazy, even when my partner insisted on paying for it they said it was covered. Honestly one of the nicest experiences I’ve ever had. Definitely going back! Thank you for a wonderful lunch :)

We booked in for Afternoon Tea and were not disappointed. On arrival, we offered a selection of tea but we chose to have gin and vodka instead. The tea itself consisted of finger sandwiches (ham, egg mayo and tuna mayo) on a mixture of white and brown bread. There was a pastry each, which I think was egg custard and raspberries. Very nice. We had a scone each, light, with cream, jam and fresh strawberries. There was also a "huge" blueberry muffin (again very light) and a chocolate mousse - all for £19.95 per person. Obviously the gin was extra. We also had a large bowl of crisps on the table that were replenished free of charge, together with another round of sandwiches, which we did not ask for but we manage to eat. Our alcoholic drinks were average prices and there was a huge gin selection to choose from. Not sure about the parking as we were dropped off and picked up. There was a car park nearby which I think you could use. Very close to Luton Central Train Station, so within easy walking distance. The ambiance of the bar where we had the tea was lovely, tastefully decorated and had music playing softly in the background.

On arrival we were given upgrade. That's great if the upgrade is clean very dusty . In fact all the landings were dusty carpets ... just attention to detail would be great . We chose not to eat . Area not the best of areas broken into van on car park was worried about leaving car. Very close to train track . And very noisy . Receptionist on leaving was very abrupt and not what you would expect from customer service . Only booked because of going to match .only good thing really was large bath. Toilet seat came off on lifting the lid 😩and dirty hinges .

Sinead , Sam, Debbie and last but NOT least Vibha who won the day by making me Frenchtoast as we make them in Pakistan and India , not to mention Chris and finally not to forget Hucksby who outdoes us being 4 legged and an adorable puppy make this place a special, friendly , loyalty rewarding home away from home. I asked for tap water and Debbie brought me nice bottled water with a glass and brought it to me upstairs . I believe the lovely lady who took my booking on the phone the first time was Chloe but I could be totally wrong about the name was also very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this hotel situated in the High town 7 minute walk from the station. Looking forward to Vibha s French toast again tomorrow. It's not on the menu but if you ask nicely she ll oblige! They taste nicer the Pakistani way with sugar beaten into it and as Vibha is from Mumbai she knew exactly how to make them! Thanks everyone at Leaside whom I am yet to meet!
