OYO The Red Lion Hotel

Food really nice. Service really really lets it down. Slow and massively understaffed / staff don’t seem to care. 25 minutes for a bowl of soup. However when it came it was lovely as was the paneer tikka wrap. Just a shame it seems so disorganised.

After reading the reviews and having been a patron of Club 2000 for many many years, the decision was made to come to The Red Lion. What a mistake that was, I’d never return nor recommend. Arrived to a nice venue, seemed pleasant enough, took a seat at our table and looked through the menu. Waitress soon attended but only after we had to ask for one and that was after waiting 10 minutes. Ordered 4 drinks and chilli mix with a couple of popodoms. 10 minutes mix arrived, no drinks get, few minutes later, popodoms arrived and yet no drinks. Only after 20 odd minutes and again only as we asked, the drinks finally arrived. Popodoms, amazed there was any oil left in the fryer! The chilli mix, it was ok although no seasoning at all. Then proceeded to order betavada and crispy bhajia, both took forever and a day. Crispy bhajia were rank, overfried with no seasoning, the potato’s had been soaked in lemon, the sourness was not good. The betaveada were even worse, lumps of potato, no seasoning or taste. The chutneys, the green coriander one was vile, just coriander with some water! The waitress was not professional at all, not courtesy, was not happy being there. Staff in general were not attentive at all. We called it a day thereafter, would not trust trying anything else, shame Club 2000 does not send its staff and cooks over as I doubt this place will last if it carries on this way.

You can hear everything from the hotel rooms. People walking past, everything outside the windows, people in the other rooms. EVERYTHING. The rooms need updating, peeling wallpaper, loud floors, dirty carpet. The building looks like it's falling down too, cracks everywhere. My rooms plug was hanging out the wall. There was no handle on the drawer, just sharp screws that I ended up hurting myself on. DANGEROUS!

AVOID!!!!!! AVOID!!!! AVOID!!!!! very rude staff need to lean how to treat customers. but i don't think they get many. Warning signs were there only SIX people inside. And this was Sunday lunchtime 1.o'clock. It will be interesting to see how long it stays open. WILL NOT RETURN!!!!!!!!!

Last minute booking as we had an early flight from Luton airport. Arrived late in the evening and food service stopped at about 9. We ordered 3 meals and the staff were not phased or put out at all. Lovely welcome in fact. Bar nice and clean and food hit and decent. Easy check in and parking on site. Local to the town centre and airport/ airport parking. Convenient overnight stay. We would definitely use again

Incredible pub, decent atmosphere and the two bar staff Megan and Kelsey always make us feel at home. Both very welcoming and enjoyable experience would highly recommend. Great selection on tap, caters for everybody, very surprised it's not busier.
