Riverside Inn, Aymestrey

We stayed in one of the stand alone "cottages". Very different but in a good way. The whole place has a touch of class you don't usually find in a pub type setting. Everything is authentically sustainable without compromising on quality. We dined in both nights and really enjoyed very good food. Don't let the price put you off. This is a really lovely place to spend a couple of days. Great staff and manager.

Absolutely stunning venue Stayed in one of the outdoor pods which was an amazing experience, very relaxing and chilled out. Evening meal and breakfast absolutely delicious along with excellent service from all the staff Beautiful location with great choices of walks to suit all abilities. An experience that was perfection and we highly rate The Riverside Inn Definitely going to be going back again

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff and an exquisite menu, with some of the best dining I’ve had in a while. Excellent for exploring if you like a good walk and beautiful scenery.

We had a fabulous stay at The Riverside. We stayed in one of the Garden rooms which was perfect in every way with thoughtful details, such as a torch to walk back with after dinner, and fresh milk in our fridge for tea/coffee. What really impressed was the service we received from the staff. Even though the bar and restaurant were busy, the manager and his brilliant young team looked after us so well . We will definitely return!

Friends had recommended The Riverside as a good place to eat so we decided to take a mini break, visit nearby Croft Castle, and stay overnight at the hotel. Our arrival was very welcoming and we were personally taken to our suite and shown where everything was. The suite was very clean and thoughtfully arranged with lots of space and yet feeling cosy too. The en suite had a lovely walk in rainfall shower - shower mat in the cupboard! Nice toiletries too. There was a good selection of teas and coffee and a lovely pot of homemade flapjacks along with fresh milk and a carafe of water in a very silent little fridge. Bedding was lovely and crisp and the bed very comfy. We had a relaxing drink in the bar after settling in. There is a selection of good wines by the glass along with zero alcohol beers for my husband. Dinner was outstanding and every course was delicious. Pride and care have been taken to ensure as much as possible is sourced locally - including from their own gardens and this is reflected in the quality of the food. Prices are reasonable and portions generous. Breakfast was a perfect start to the day - beautifully cooked scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and toast plus marmalade and jam - all homemade and super tasty. I had read some of the 5* reviews from previous guests on Trip Advisor so was quietly hopeful our stay would be a good one. It certainly was and we do wish the lovely people we met there all the very best in the future.

It is rare to find a place where so much attention is given to ensuring the guests have an excellent experience on every front. I cannot praise and recommend this place enough. From the accommodation to the fabulous food, the owners provide a high quality of service. George, manages front of house with a natural charm and efficiency. This is the first time I have reviewed anything, but felt compelled to do share.
