Camellia Court Motel

Great spot in a convenient suburb close to the Wellington CBD. It seems like this motel is in the midst of significant upgrades. While our room showed some signs of wear and tear, there was also evidence of significant new upgrades. We booked for one night but decided to stay for 2. The owner gave us a small discount for the 2nd night. When we checked in, the reception took great effort to ensure all was ready for us. There was milk, sodas, and even a couple of KitKats. The room showed some wear to the carpet and sofa but it was spotlessly clean. Very spacious in both the main room and the bathroom. All the amenities you expect or need were provided. The bathroom was huge and obviously had been recently upgraded with a spa tub and a new shower stall. The hot water was endless and the towels plentiful and high quality. The kitchenette had microwave, fridge, kettle, and was offset from the bedroom so we weren't falling over each other. There is no A/C but with windows at the front and back and a huge pedestal fan we never had issues cooling it down. The free laundry facilities and vacuum for cleaning our car came in very handy. Lots of room to store things too. The slightly larger table would have been appeciated. If you are fussy you will find things here to complain about. But if you enjoy value for money, and appreciate an owner striving to improve, this is a very good choice. Only 5 minutes to the train station for easy connections diwntown.
