The Residen

Our family of 5 stayed at the Residen in a three bedroom flat for a week in early August 2022. We were very satisfied with the value we received. The Residen is sort of a cross between a hotel and a VRBO. There is not daily housekeeping or a front desk but you can get fresh towels and assistance when needed. If you do not need daily housekeeping or a concierge then the Residen will suit you just fine. We appreciated the washer/dryer and the kitchen. Had we stayed in two typical hotel rooms we would not have had a common area for the five of us to spend time together. The location in Fitzrovia we excellent at well. We would stay here again.

This is not a hotel. It is an apartment building that has units being rented out to travelers. Check in was confusing, had to personally try the code on stranger's doors to get in because, no one answers ALL 5 phone numbers provided to guests. The entire unit has NO AIR COND. hot as heck the whole day, Street side is super noisy with traffic and/or construction, rear side has people throwing away trash into huge bins in the early hours. Beds and linens are filthy, beds horrible quality. Last day we left the room and got locked out when trying to get our luggage to rush to airport. Had to call 20 times to get our luggage and not miss our plane. Terrifying place to walk at night. if we could give less than 1 star for service it would be great.

We stayed at the Residen last week(5th Nov) We had booked 2 apartments, one being the penthouse. Normal check-in is 4pm but we had a show to get to at 5.30pm, so we arranged beforehand to arrive a little earlier and check-in at approx. 2pm. We spoke to the building manager 3days prior, and also on the morning of our arrival, to confirm our early check-in. The building manager assured us it was absolutely fine and both apartments would be ready at 2pm. When we arrived at approx. 2.30pm one of the apartments was ready, but the penthouse was not. This was not a huge issue initially as we were happy to wait in the first apartment for a short while. Unfortunately, the second apartment was not cleaned, or ready for us to enter until 5pm. An hour after the normal check-in time! The cleaning staff were polite and fine, the manager was not onsite - so harder to deal wtih, but we wanted the issue addressed afterwards. The manager assured us someone would contact us about the lateness of the room. We are still trying and waiting for someone to get in touch! It's very disapointing in terms of the service we have recieved. We were late to our booking, as we only got into our apartment at 5pm! It's just not what you expect from a professional and competent business. If they decide to get back in touch, we shall update our review.

My wife and I stayed at The Residen – Fitzrovia for two nights. It was a great stay because of its proximity to many tourist attractions, restaurants and supermarkets. Importantly, the room had all the amenities we needed as a couple that occasionally cooks. The furniture and fittings were of a high standard which we appreciated as it added to the overall, positive experience. The housekeeping staff were especially helpful; Maria and her sister (forget her name) who helped us with our small but urgent requests promptly. I would definitely stay at this property again since we travel to the UK often.

Bella struttura, stanza confortevole con un letto matrimoniale comodo, cucina attrezzata anche se mancano i fornelli ( c’è un microonde che supplisce). Balconcino, che dá sulla parte interna quindi niente vista di Londra, ma utile per stendere panni ( c’è lavasciuga) e eventualmente per fumare. Ottima la posizione, tranquilla ma al centro della parte turistica di Londra, a piedi 15 minuti per soho. Metropolitana a 3 minuti a piedi. Aspetti negativi: scarsissima illuminazione, nel bagno ( molto piccolo) nessuna presa elettrica e luce molto bassa, scivoloso il piatto doccia. Se si prenota per più giorni, ritirano la spazzatura una volta a settimana, come pure le pulizie sono settimanali, e questo d’estate genera problemi di igiene. Per il resto, ottima struttura, i manager molto disponibili.

La camera è ampia ed accogliente, tutto funzionale ma sopratutto pulito, molto comodo per l’università di Londra, la stazione della metropolitana è vicinissima. Comunque a piedi puoi raggiungere molti punti di interesse di Londra. Non ho usato l’angolo cottura perciò non mi esprimo sulla sua funzionalità.
