We spent a week at the Connaught and stayed in one of their relatively new Coburg Suites. The Coburg Suites are almost identical to the Carlos Suites (both are the same size and are the smallest suite category, and have a view over Carlos Place) except the Coburg Suites were updated just over a year ago and have a handy guest bathroom. The room was decorated very nicely with all of the controls very intuitive, which is something I don't always say about high tech recently renovated rooms, often the tech gets out of control and it can be difficult to figure out how to control lights, shades and so forth. We had room service breakfast each morning, we put the card out each night with our order and the breakfast would be delivered within 1-2 minutes of our requested time and to the extent we ordered hot items they were delivered hot. We also leveraged the Connaught car service to get to Wimbledon one morning, the driver was very professional and unlike a UBER driver a few days prior, knew some short cuts to avoid some of the worst traffic. We had drinks at the Connaught Bar, the Red Room and the Coburg Bar. Service was great in all three, but we would put the first two on top as it relates to the cocktails themselves, both are world class, and would recommend advance reservations, which might be difficult for non guests as it relates to the Connaught Bar. In addition to the room service, service also stood out on arrival when check in took about 2 minutes, and the hotel also did a nice touch with red, white and blue flowers in our room on July 4th. In sum, this visit demonstrated why The Connaught is one of the world's great hotels.
