This is a truly wonderful hotel, I cannot recommend it highly enough. We had a wonderful week here over half term February 2024. The hotel isn’t perfect, nothing is, but the few areas that aren’t perfect are more than made up for by the amazing staff who you could tell all wanted us to have a fantastic holiday – the head waiter and the barman/sommelier being stand out all round amazing. The food is spectacular and I compliment all the kitchen team on producing such delicious food every evening (ski pants were a bit tight at the end of the week!). The communal areas of the hotel have been beautifully refurbished, while still keeping the traditional, ornate alpine wooden panelling. It shouldn’t work, but it does. The rooms still have largely original décor but are so well appointed it doesn’t matter – you’re only in there to sleep and shower! I particularly appreciated the tea making facilities – fresh milk available from the bar and could be stored in the mini bar fridge. It was so lovely to have a cup of tea in bed at night. The shower was good, towels large (but not very fluffy) and there was hand/hair/body wash and body lotion (no conditioner) as well as a shower cap and a few cotton buds. I didn’t use the hairdrier as I brought my own but my daughter did and said it wasn’t very powerful. The nightly turndown service with a sweet (and a delicious Lindor heart on Valentine’s day) was a lovely luxury. If you like a firm bed this will be perfect for you – I don’t, so I put the blanket provided under the sheet and it made the bed softer but I didn’t sleep very well for the week (possibly exacerbated by the wine and the altitude!). We had a duvet each and they were fluffy and warm. Unusually, there was plenty of storage space in the wardrobe and drawers for all our ski gear, as well as a balcony (we overlooked the Burz lift) and a chair. The cleaning staff were excellent -the hotel was immaculate. It felt like our sheets and towels were changed every day (which was lovely but actually unnecessary if that was the case, for environmental reasons we’d be happy with a once/twice a week change). Location couldn’t have been better. Out the ski room door, and around 25 metres to the piste, with a ski down to the Burz lift (largeish queues in the morning but they soon eased). The ski room is small with few places to sit, so it did get a bit congested but it was fine. Each room has a lockable locker with heated boot storage – bliss! There’s also a servicing point with screwdrivers etc if you need to maintain your skis. The spa was good too – with a steam room, two saunas and a jacuzzi. My husband and daughter had a massage which they said was excellent, though I cannot recommend my pedicure (sitting on a treatment bed is very uncomfortable) although the therapist was lovely. The only real negative things I can say about the hotel is that the WiFi is poor – I could send messages but there wasn’t enough signal strength to log in to my work inbox s
