We stayed at Chrysalis as a group of friends during a yoga retreat, and honestly, we couldn’t have imagined a better setting! From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and supported – the staff were always kind, attentive, and smiling. The location is perfect for peace, nature, and deep relaxation: quiet, yet close to the Chora, with stunning views of the Aegean and the castle. We practiced yoga against the backdrop of endless blue and breathtaking sunsets – an experience we’ll never forget. The rooms were spotless and thoughtfully decorated, the breakfast rich and healthy, filled with local flavors that energized us every morning. The atmosphere was ideal for rest, meditation, and meaningful connection with ourselves and our group. The team supported us every step of the way – always discreet but truly present – helping us experience a retreat full of harmony, care, and authenticity. Chrysalis is a stilish boutique hotel with an amaising seeview and a wonderful team ,who took care of us.We travel a lot and I can really say ,this was one of the most beautiful vacations .The time spent in Astypalea was like a Haruki Murakami fantastic novel.Kindly thanks to Nikos an all his colleagues !

Without a doubt one of the best, if not the best, hotels I've ever stayed in. I travel a lot but this hotel was just a different level for so many things, but where it excels beyond any other hotel, were the absolutely wonderful staff. They were the loveliest, kindest, most helpful hotel staff I've ever met. Nikitas was so so so sweet to us, and from the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, he was the absolute best. The two wonderful ladies who worked on the front desk and at breakfast were also amazing. They really made us feel so welcome and at home. From all of Nikitas' and their recommendations on beaches, and places to eat, to helping us with car rentals and so on: they just went above and beyond and always with a smile! The breakfast!!! Wow!!!! Probably the best breakfast with the best view from the breakfast table anywhere in the world!!! The breakfast itself was so delicious with so many choices. I loved that you could choose it the night before. The views!!! Just incredible. Such a beautiful direct view of the ocean. The rooms!!!! So clean and stylish and with a lovely little balcony. The extra stuff!!! Hotel gave us beach towels and a big beach umbrella during our stay. That was SO HELPFUL!

A beautiful hotel with great design and lay out, ensuring all rooms and terraces profit from the fantastic view. We loved the lighting, the view from the terrace, the exceptionally clean rooms with lovely bedding and towels. The privacy, discretion and quiet were really appreciated, and it was also lovely not to feel like we had to rush out to vacate the room for cleaning (and often it wasn’t easy leaving the luxury of that view with coffee and reading on the terrace!) A couple suggestions - some more dairy free and gluten free options and fruit variety for breakfast would be great (know it can be tricky getting supplies to the islands but there are some very well stocked supermarkets). The early breakfast for an early flight departure for example, which is a lovely touch, was gluten based so couldn’t eat it. The shutters were missing with blinds instead so we missed the blackout effect, but hung a towel up so that was fine. Smells travelled through the air con between rooms, was usually ok, but some unpleasant perfumes in our first couple days which fortunately departed. The dark bathroom was tricky at first but we got used to it! The daily dessert offered in the afternoon was a nice touch and we felt bad declining everyday, but was either too sugary for us or with gluten/cow’s milk. We would much prefer some complimentary fruit or a daily bottle still/sparkling water in the fridge/room. We thank Anna, Marina and Nikita on reception for helping us have such a wonderful, healthy and relaxing holiday. Particular thanks to Anna for helping with the hire car and very good advice for a nervous driver/passenger on the cliff roads and tracks of the island!) And Nikita’s map was really useful thanks. And also a big thank you to the cleaning staff and room service team, the cleaning really was exceptional and what a luxury having breakfast delivered to our terrace every morning. Thanks to Marina and all the team for such a lovely stay, and apologies for delay with review - today on a dark, cold wintery day in UK we definitely wish we were back there now!

We have been to Chrysalis for a second time and it was as magical as our first stay 4 years ago. Everybody is super lovely and helpful, Marina and her team are just amazing!! The view out of the balcony is breathtaking, amazing breakfast. Rooms super clean and nice interior. We celebrated our wedding at Chrysalis and had our absolutely dream wedding!!! It’s our favorite hotel at the island, feels like home, a place where you can relax your mind. Big thanks to the whole team, we will come back every year = )
