I had the greatest stay at Casa Oliver! The staff, Miguel, Caroline and Joao were so welcoming and very helpful with restaurant suggestions, and the activities I had planned. The location was excellent and close to many shops and restaurants. Walking everywhere was a breeze. It is in an old building, which I loved for all its vintage character. A wide and winding hardwood staircase takes you up to the floors above. There is a small elevator, but I chose to walk the steps each time. the room was charming. I was in a double on the 3rd floor located on the back side. It was very clean, and the bed and pillows comfortable. It was so nice to have a Nespresso machine in the room to make a quick cup of coffee in the morning, then to relax and look out my window, with deep sills, to the view of the city beyond. There is also a room refrigerator that came in handy for fruit and snacks. They have a dining area that looked very cozy with delicious smells every morning that came from it. I am not typically a breakfast eater and did not add it to my stay. I felt completely safe walking both during the day, and the evening to late night around the neighborhood the hotel was in. They give you a code to access the door at the street and another for your room. There are ample great restaurants close by, and most in less than a 10 minute walk. My favorite morning stop was the handmade chocolate and coffee shop, Bettina Corallo, about a block away. With your coffee order, they give you a square of their delicious chocolate made right there. Of course, I always had to add extra to take with me. I would most definitely stay at Casa Oliver again!
