Traveled recently with my family to Lisbon. I was excited to stay at this hotel based upon reviews, the concept, and the fact that it is affiliated with a hospitality school, but I was disappointed in our stay. I really liked the decor, design, and concept but sadly it hasn't been kept up very well - stained walls, stained carpets, dents and dings in the furniture and walls, paint peeling on the bedroom wall from moisture, chipped desks, unhooked curtains hanging from the rods, carpet runners in the hall that trip you up, and a really sketchy door lock (old key lock, no security lock). My room door did not seem secure and could easily be rattled when locked. I did not feel comfortable at night. There were two hair dryers in the room and both tripped the circuit in the bathroom. My wife had to dry her hair in the bedroom. When we first checked in, I brought my door lock concern to the front desk and I was assured that the neighborhood was very safe and that they would have someone look into it the next day. No one ever followed up but since we were there for only a few days, I did not feel it was worth pursuing any further. Positives were... the location, a great residential neighborhood with its own charm but close enough to sites and attractions. The breakfast was fine, and everyone we met on staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming. I would consider this hotel a budget option with not a lot of frills, which is appealing, but I feel you must maintain what you do provide. This hotel still has a lot of potential but really needs some attention and care.
