This place is in what we found the coolest location in Lisbon. Not too touristy and yet with plenty of nice restaurants, bars and shops just around the corner. Which the hotel staff will recommend you. Although very central, the hotel is a bit hidden, and thanks to that very quiet. We had a courtyard room which was light enough and had a decent look out to the outside spaces. The ceilings are high, the bathrooms are nice. Great shower. Wonderful comfy king bed. The style of the hotel is pretty high end design and still cosy. The breakfast is great and we loved that there is a snack available at all times. Highly recommended when visiting Lisbon.

This hotel is truly amazing in every way. Quaint, stunning, attention to details is over the top - the way they decorate, access to fresh fruit, pastries, coffee/tea, the quiet areas to just be and relax or work. Beautiful, thoughtfully designed, comfortable. My only sadness is we stayed less than 13 hours as we had to leave to head out of the country and wish we had more time here. The staff are lovely too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Based on my experience here I consider this a place that does not respect the health, time or money of its guests and they seem to have difficulties being honest, too. -- I was in a difficult situation myself and at the very last-minute booked a two-night stay here via a booking platform. Upon arrival the room smelled so strongly of room scent that my chemical sensitivity was triggered (this hadn't happened to me in Europe before and is a rather new development for me overall). I was exhausted and really needed a room, so I just tried to make it work for me by keeping the window wide open for hours. But the symptoms were triggered continuously as the smell didn't get any better. After leaving the room for a while, coming back to try again and being hit by another wave of smell and symptom intensification I went to the reception to find a solution together. Nobody from cleaning or management was onsite and the only solution offered was to maybe change to another room - that smelled just the same (we went to check). At that point I knew I had to leave, contacted ******* and kindly asked for a refund. The manager who was then contacted via phone denied a refund and refused to speak to me directly (which I had asked for). Then I was made to wait for quite a while - sick, exhausted and overwhelmed, trying to find another hotel room in a city that was filled with guests on a holiday; at night. Finally they offered a compromise: second night refunded. I accepted and left without sleeping in the room. It was very unpleasant for me, but things like these can happen and I do understand that they wanted to bill me something for having to clean the room after I had entered it. I contacted the booking platform to ask how the refund will be processed, but was informed the next day that the hotel suddenly refuses to refund anything at all. When I try to call the hotel myself now, my calls don't go through (previously they did - I had to call them when I first arrived at the hotel, see below, location issue). Did they block my number? I don't know, but confronted with the overall strangeness I read through their reviews now. Prior to booking I was in a hurry and the 4.9 star average rating on Google had fooled me. To my surprise I see that several other guests have recently complained of the same problem with the smell. This contrasts what I've been told onsite: that this had "never happened before." When I first arrived at the hotel it was very hard for the Uber driver to find the entrance, despite hotel name and adress tied to it being desplayed correctly in the Uber app and GPS. The front staff had to come outside to get me after the Uber driver and I had circled the block a couple of times and even asked several people on the street how to find the hotel. During that time I also called the hotel a couple of times and they only picked up the third time. When we finally made it, I explained the difficulty to them (for the sake of other guests etc.) and

Loved my stay at Patio do Tijolo. Stayed 4 nights to celebrate my mum's birthday. The location is fantastic - central yet quiet, lovely breakfast and a very cool vibe. Great restaurant and cafe options a short walk away. Super comfortable beds and bathroom and staff who will help you with anything you need to get organised on the ground.
