On arrival we let ourselves in with a given code no. as advised by text. Passed some interesting family photos along the corridor, not a soul around except a lovely friendly little cat. Found our room no. 2. Oh dear, smell of dog hit us first, opened the windows. Mini fridge, toaster, microwave and kettle in the corner. Dirty cutlery on the table, no coffee. Went to the village for supplies, thought *********** stated bed and breakfast, but hey ho. Found a nice pub called Cantley cock and had a delicious meal. Back to the lodge for a good night's sleep, alas the boarding under the mattress was warped, so spent the night fighting to stay away from the edge for fear of falling onto the floor! Shower and bathroom was very nice, views lovely, grounds a bit neglected looking. Heaven only knows where the 'gym and swimming pool were as advertised in ***********. Gorgeous horses in a small field adjacent to the house, clearly well cared for by the amount of sacks of feed kept in the entrance hall. Dressed for the wedding we were attending the next morning, decided to pack up and not return for the 2nd night as we needed a good night's sleep so travelled home that night. Hosts were absent, man of the house would be available for emergencies only. Lovely little cat came to wave us off. Anyone heard of the phrase 'normal for Norfolk'?
