Premier Inn Lincoln City Centre

We stayed last weekend as a party of 7 friends & family for my sisters 60th birthday. The Manager and hotel staff went out to their way to make sure we all had everything we needed especially my sister who's room the staff decorated and left treats for her. We all had twin rooms with two single beds that were very comfortable. the whole hotel is very clean and is a nice place to stay. At breakfast the staff were very helpful especially as it was their busiest period, we didn't have to wait long for any food. My sister had her cake to cut up for us all and the hotel provided take out boxes for us to put cake in for taking home which was great as we had forgotten to bring anything. All in all it was a great stay and the hotel is in a great place for the city centre just across the road but far enough away that we didn't hear any noise.

Conveniently located & very reasonably priced hotel for a night out at the Theatre in Lincoln, shopping & exploring the Castle /Cathedral area. All well within walking distance. Chose a Premier plus room for its extra space, comfort & amenities. Excellent breakfast. Lovely staff. Convenient parking in multi-storey directly behind.

Arrived at 2.45pm hotel wanted to charge £15 for early check in. So now sat in the lobby for 15 mins with a load of guests all wondering why Premier Inn feels the need to charge a £1 per minute for early check in. Looking forward to the queue at reception at 3.00pm, so unnecessary.

Hotel in good place to explore Lincoln. We have stayed in many Premier Inns including London many times, but this hotel was probably the worst experience at breakfast time. Very badly run, not enough staff there, as only 1 or 2 chefs plus similar waiting staff who were running around trying their best . Many food items were constantly running out and taking ages to replenish, some items had totally ran out like muffins, croissants etc, food wasn’t great tasting there either. Tables were left dirty for ages( not staffs fault, as did their best) . One male server was particularly busy in there, and very pleasant! It was half term so hotel was very busy, queue’s for the food were long too, therefore that should have been considered and definitely more staff needed. Totally chaotic breakfast time on both days. Even in London we have never experienced this ! Also requested a room clean, but this did not happen, just got our towels changed which I was going to mention when we checked out, but there wasn’t anyone on reception! Overall I probably wouldn’t stay at this hotel again. On the plus side, the staff were friendly and did work hard, and hotel is good for being close to Lincoln centre.

Usually Premier Inn meet or exceed my expectations. On this occasion the room smelled damp. The double glazing had “blown” and there was mould on the window frame and net curtain. The TV remote failed whilst checking the guide. This made the TV unresponsive even to manual switch off, staff advised me to switch off the room power at the trip, this worked, TV then operated without the remote for the remainder of our stay.
