Kassavetis Center - Hotel Studios & Apartments

I have used Love Holidays for many holidays with no cause for complaint - but the Hotel for my holiday to Crete had many Health & Safety Issues at the Hotel. It was not up to the standard - as in maintenance of the hotel/rooms I was expecting from a 3 star hotel & the representation that was made on the Love Holidays website – this includes the detail held on the hotel, the facilities of the hotel as in the room contents & the pictures provided of the hotel. I had an expectation of the standard of maintenance & repair of the hotel & the level experienced at the hotel is the worst I have experienced in 35 years on having many holidays. The receptionist & manager were to put it mildly “quite difficult” & instead of apologising it was apparent this issue was going to mean a not & very nice start to my holiday. My room was changed after requesting my £100 Euro deposit for the original room but by this point I really didn't want to be staying there for the rest of my holiday. I stuck it out because I didn't want to be out of pocket & put in a formal complaint with Love Holidays requesting £150 in compensation but only got back £55.84. The location is great - don't pick this one - there are pleanty of nicer ones with better customer service! Happy Holidays

(19/09/24 to 26/09/24) Just returned from a week at the Kassavetis Center - Hotel Studios & Apartments (***) in Heronossis, Crete. Advertised as a 3 star, but really just a 1 star. We had paid extra for a sea view but didn’t realise the apartment was in a separate building above the main strip (bars and restaurants) with noise continuing into 3 and 4 in the morning. Accommodation, although very clean, was very basic. Furniture was old and needed replaced, beds hard, fridge was ancient although worked, kettle top was broken and bathroom shower attachment on wall broken, shower head/caddy rusty. TV didn’t have English channels and air conditioning was loud. Sea view was lovely but we didn’t sit out as it was too noisy. The apartments were very central for shops and restaurants if you want somewhere just to sleep as your out partying to all hours (cheap and not so cheerful) this is ideal. If you are looking for something more comfortable don’t book these apartments. We ended up going to the Albatross Hotel ****plus every day to use the pool, bought breakfast and lunch there and drinks. Also beware, the beach has a rock base which needs to be negotiated if you wish to go swimming in the sea. After watching others fall, scrapes etc we gave the beach a miss - which was annoying as we enjoy the beach. On our last day we were going to pay €50 to keep our room as flight wasn’t until 11pm and was advised we needed to check out at 11am (advert advises 12 noon). Advised we needed to be out by 5pm. As we were at the pool until then didn’t extend our room but were assured a shower and changing facilities were available. This turned out to be the pool shower (lol) and the public toilet upstairs on the first floor! I must say I have never been in a hotel or apartments that did not have a courtesy room for departing guests. On that note cases were stored in a small cupboard next to lift with glass door (no locks). Reception was sometimes left unattended, so take any valuables with you on your last day. Disappointed.

The hotel was clean but a little tired, we booked breakfast but now wish we had not as the food was not the best and the staff were very disappointing. The coffee was poor at best and the machine looked like it had not been cleaned since installation. However, the staff on reception were most helpful and couldn’t do enough to help. We booked a sea view room, be warned as the noise at night kept us awake until around 3.00 am every night. The room we had did have a good view of the sea plus the main strip as well.

Where do I start, we arrived at the hotel to be told we needed to pay €100 each for a deposit, then we get it back if no damages. Then 2nd day had room cleaned, and there was a knock on the door to come to Reception. Young girl was very rude and told us the bedding and towels were destroyed and we needed to pay €70 for then. Which only had a little suntan cream on and lipstick on a pillow case, Why a hot wash couldnt remove them. Anyhow we took the laundry back and washed it ourselves which came out prefect, then returned it to Reception. In the meantime we never had any more housekeeping to our room for the reat of the week. Then last day we got a letter to say we have to pay €50 for keeping the air-conditioning on while out? Apparently it should be turned off when out of the room, but nobody told us. Its so dated, says its self catering when we had no kitchen utensils, crockery in there so had to buy cups and glasses. Felt the family run hotel was on some sort of scam to recoup the €200 deposit you pay at the start. Good location that's about it.

Sept 24 Just an awful hotel, old tatty, poor facilities. Pools aren’t safe or even used. No facilities in kitchen area. The pictures on the website were obviously taken when it was new 1990. Good point, bed was clean and staff were friendly, location was good.

Spent a week here in September. Booked a cheap deal to Crete. Location is good in that very central. I was staying on the annex for superior sea view rooms. To get there you walk through the noisy bar street and are near two night clubs so if you mind noise or crave silence this isn’t the place for you. Rooms clean and basic Greek comforts. Bathroom a basic Greek bathroom. Air conditioning was great. Room was cleaned once in a weeks stay and towels and bins emptied daily. Cleaner lovely. She came on an evening though which was fine for me just a little unexpected. I didn’t use the cooking facilities and these looked basic but functional. Lots more facilities in main hotel that I didn’t use being in the annex, so can’t comment I went to breakfast once at 9:30… virtually nothing left. I didn’t bother going again. Staff were all friendly and helpful in few dealings I had with them
