Pela Maria Hotel

We arrived at the Pela Maria Hotel around 2 a.m. local time. It's a small, three-star, adults-only hotel. The friendly staff at the reception quickly gave us the keys to room 206. However, we were surprised to find the room quite small, about 14 square meters. The bathroom was particularly problematic—only one person could fit inside, and the door opened inward, hitting the toilet. This made it difficult, especially for men, to use the bathroom and shower comfortably. After two days, we requested a room change. The staff, without any issues, provided us with a new room of similar size but with a better bathroom layout and a larger balcony. The room was cleaned daily, with fresh towels provided regularly. The air conditioning, though a bit old, worked well, but it’s unclear if it is regularly serviced or disinfected. The room was locked with a standard key, but the door was very thin, allowing all hallway noises to be heard inside. Regarding the food, the hotel’s menu was repetitive, and after a few days, we lost interest in eating there. A downside was the lack of information about the dishes, which could be risky for those with allergies. The pool bar opens at 10:00 a.m., offering drinks, beer, and soft drinks. The pool itself is small but sufficient for the number of rooms. Finding an available sunbed wasn’t too difficult, although they were limited. The pool area is mostly shaded, so sunbathing is possible only in the early morning hours. The pool’s ladder could use some repairs as it wobbles when used. The music played by the pool is varied and at a low volume, allowing for a relaxed atmosphere. WiFi quality was poor, often weak or non-existent, typical of a three-star hotel. The network wasn’t password-protected, raising concerns about data security, so using personal LTE is recommended. A bus stop near the hotel offers easy access to Heraklion for 3.5 euros per person, with a 45-minute journey time. The hotel’s surroundings are filled with restaurants, bars, and shops, making it ideal for those who enjoy nightlife. However, it’s advisable to book a room facing the pool for a quieter stay, as rooms facing the street can be noisy at night. Additionally, there is a car rental service about 50 meters from the hotel, with a four-day rental costing around 200 euros.

This the 2nd time iv wrote a review first one has been deleted . We paid a lot of money for an all inclusive holiday what we got was poor and disgusting. We book this hotel because of the 91 photos and reviews witch have turned out to be fake The food was basic and the same every day and mostly looked like the day before left over and was clearly not fresh . The rooms were small and the tv had sky news only . WiFi was poor and didn’t work most of the time . Bath room were tiny with the door hitting the toilet so access to shower was hard . No mini bar , no hair dryer, no tea coffee all clearly stated on Webb sight these our part of package . It was off putting eating lunch with the chef smoking in the corner . The pool was dirty most of the week with a lot of lose broken tiles in and around the pool area . The bar in the photos shows a fully stocked with a lot of variety this was not the case our bar consisted of ouzo , raki , brandy , one beer and soft drinks . This hotel is a one star at best . The staff in reception were rude management was rude we were even blackmailed into writing a review to keep our inclusive bands on last day . Staff even asked me in front of other guest to show review if not she would have to cut my band of . Please do not book this hotel the con artist and you will be left like me angry and disappointed. The bad reviews our being deleted so the fake good one keep them in business DONT BE FOOLED

The location is perfect! You could visit any beach nearby and enjoy the views of this area. The food is very tasty, we had traditional dishes and seafood in salads, a lot of fish and variety of meat. Everything fresh and with a good quality. We didn’t want to visit any restaurants, because it was delightful:) The room was clean, the housekeepers made our room everyday. This hotel made out holiday perfect.

The people works here were really helpful and food was also good. The pool was nice relief and the acces to pool bar too. The Beach was close to this place so quick walk and there are many good restaurant nearby so I think I can recommend this place :)

We had a fantastic time staying at this hotel as near to the beach near the shopping near loads of restaurants , there is always something nice every meal time , special thanks To Janis the most amazing manager , Nikitas, and Nancy . The hotel deserves a 4 star hopefully 5!

The hotel is really nice, we liked our vacation here. The stuff are friendly and always help us with our questions. Especially thanks a lot Maritina! Also, there are a lot of restaurants and cheap stores. Near the hotel there are a lot of nice beaches. Thank you Pela Maria for this vacation!

I really like the bed it was so fluffy. Stuff are the best. The location is pretty nice. We bought a lot of present for our family they are happy too. Food is amazing! Thanks Maritina for all help which we needed in our trip!Even late at night.She is great!

Would describe this hotel as budget, outdated rooms and facilities, comfortable bed and powerful shower, although the shower cubicle was tiny and soaked the floor, we paid for all inclusive but hardly used it, can get much nicer food and drink in the many other bars and restaurants, there is a bar directly connected to the hotel and we spent a few night drinking and people watching, the staff there were lovely, it’s got a great location in the heart of town, not really suitable if you want somewhere peaceful, staff weren’t overly friendly and if I were to come back to the area I probably wouldn’t stay again
