Golden Beach

We Arrived in the Golden Beach Hotel on the 29th of May and we were greeted by two smiling very friendly receptionists ,They gave us our key and very kindly showed us to our very comfortable room which was very comfortable and spotlessly clean ,beds were comfortable with a good firm pillow so I slept really well ,were there on a half board basis and breakfast was good served by a wonderful group of waiting staff who were all wonderful and always greeted you with a very warm Smile ,Dinner in the evenings was very disappointing and we ended up eating out ,the food is too repetitive and most people ate out for the same same reason.The Entrance Hall is Beautiful and White which makes it very bright ,the Cleaning lady we had was absolutely lovely and greeted us every morning with a very broad smile and a good morning .On the whole hotel is lovely but Dinner menu needs improved .All in all fantastic fortnight in a great Hotel .

We book a room for 3 ppl for one week. The room was clean, housekeeping came every day refreshing the towels and the coffe tray. We had breakfast and dinner included. Food was nice, good but not something that would amaze us. 2 days before our departure we asked for a late check out for 4 pm. Reception told us to confirm again our request one day before we were leaving and if they have availability will be approved. So we went again in the next day at the reception to confirm our request. Was a different man there and he told us to come after dinner because it was too early(went around breakfast time). We told him we book a sunset cruise so we would arrive back at the hotel after 9 pm and he said it’s fine they will still be there. When we went in the night to confirm, again, the women told us they had no availability for the late check out, even if we asked from 2 night ago, because they were fully booked. She offered to switch to another room at 11 am when it was the normal check out and pay 60 euros. We said ok because our flight was late and we didn’t had a place to rest in the afternoon. We received room 119, first fooor where all we could hear were the chairs scratching the floor for 3 hours, noisy and with one bed for 3ppl. The fact that they couldn’t told us they are fully booked from one day before, and at least to know we have to pack early and we cannot keep our first room was totally annoying. Coming back at 10 pm and starting to do our luggage’s to move at 11 am next day to another room and to open them again to change our clothes and again to close them made our last day to be awful. First floor very small, room 119 was at the end of the corridor, noisy and a waste of money for a late check out that I couldn’t even rest for that money. Never again They have a small swimming pool at the roof top and the beach is in the back of the hotel, water is full of stones and the beach is very small, you have to put a towel from morning to have a sunbead after 9am

4* hotel this is more like a 2* evening buffet is basically the same every-night, you pay €10 a night for tourist tax wasn't expecting it to be that much, the pool i didn't even use but is very small. No evening entertainment and the lobby bar closed at 10pm i stood there for 15mins to get two beers. Booked a seafront location and could barely fit two people on the balcony. Shower very small so if you are a larger person may struggle. Staff seemed friendly enough. Room very basic.would i stay there again absolutely not.

Centrally located, good access to shops bars and restaurants. Very friendly staff. Hotel facilities clean. My room was on the front of the hotel. Noise from traffic lasted until early hours especially on Saturday night / Sunday morning. Bin collections began at approx 5am. Centrally located, good access to shops bars and restaurants. Very friendly staff. Hotel facilities clean. Room wasn't what I expected from a 4 star hotel. Very basic. The bathroom was the smallest bathroom I have ever encountered in my extensive travels. Breakfast was good. Evening meal was ok, but beware if you want water with your meal you have to pay €3. Roof top pool was good. Small pool but clean and welcoming. Beach loungers and parasol are at an extra charge of €15 per day. In room safe charge €4 per day. Hotel is a bit of a maze until you get your bearings. Overall I enjoyed my holiday and would go to Heraklion again . However I wouldn't go to this hotel again

Jet2 gave this 4stars - it’s 2 at best: 1* for location step out back, food, bars and beach steps away, out front food, bars and shopping. 1 * for staff very friendly They also should have mentioned NOT disabled friendly, 2 lifts neither go to all levels without having to deal long walks through corridors with stairs, very difficult for someone walking with crutches Rooms basic, clean Hot food wasn’t hot, as soon as you walked away from the heat lamps it was tepid at best. For what we paid it was value for money, perfect if your looking for somewhere to lay our head at night, and go off exploring in the night, if you have mobility issues this is not the hotel for you.

I want to say thanks you very much specially Alex from the Animation team for what they did with me and my family and for the kids. All stuff are been amazing! Thanks for what he did with the kids, football, volley karaoke, fifa, and water park!!
