Location was good, within the ancient city. And the room is clean. However:
1. The hotel owner brings in their dog every night, but ties it to a corner. The dog was whining every now and then, obviously uncomfortable and the owner only shouts ‘keep quiet’ without checking out the dog :(. The leash was also tied so short that makes the dog not even possible to even lay down. Personally, I don’t feel this is humane.
2. Our room tv couldn’t connect to the controller. We had to get the staff to come fix it every night. By the final night, we just simply couldn’t be bothered with it :(
3. *MAIN TURNOFF* We need to check out by 8.30am, and informed the staff the night before (need the staff to help us bring the luggage out to the main road. The hotel is located within the ancient city and no cars are allowed in + its stone cobbler flooring in the ancient city) and was told by him that no one is working that early. Then we happened to met the boss and informed him, he then told us he will make arrangements for us. However we woke up and found no staffs at all, and waited till 9am until someone shows up! It was lucky that we were not rushing for train or flight, else we would had missed it! They did not even offered an apology:(
4. Toilet bowl also broke down on the last night of our stay but we couldn’t get any help because there are no staffs at late night.
5. Lastly, on the booking it indicated free jade dragon entrance tickets, but when we arrived we were told this is only available if we book their tour package to jade dragon. Obviously not transparent.
Should we return to Lijiang again, we will NEVER book this hotel again.
