Marriott's Kaua'i Beach Club

Was very upset with serivce. Wifi was out on tv most of the night. Rented a movie and wanted my money back. Not worth the price honestly

Honestly, I had high expectations for this location. I did get an email after I booked this hotel that there would be inconveniences from certain construction work. When I arrived the property is beautifully manicured. Staff were friendly and cordial. At my room I walked in and no bed. Wasn't the same picture as what was on the web site. Just a couch but thought there was a next room. Nope. Turned out it was a "Murphy bed" Never slept in one, wasn't shown how to get it out of the wall. but I figured it out. Danger, It is heavy and for someone a bit more disabled, if it did fall on me, there would be no one around to help. First you have to remove all the couch pillows (all of them). then you have to re-arrange the two coffee tables to the side of the room. You pull down on the small knobs and hold the bed with your shoulders while you lower it. You will have to reach up with your arm to bring the iron rod over the end of the bed. This rod is the brace footing for the front of the bed. You must do this before it is lowered to the floor. After that, you can untangle the mattress. The pillows are in the closet so you have to fetch them. I was worried it would be another futon experience, you know hard uncomfortable. For me, because I am disabled, It would of been nice to have assistance. The phone in the room was difficult to figure out and did not work properly. When I finally got a line to the valet the intercom sounding voice was hard to comprehend. I couldn't call using my phone because there was no cellular service from my room. Overall, the hotel is dated. A once magnificent hotel when built is aged, carpet aged, furniture aged. I hope the upgrade includes a total hotel refresh and just not the pool area. I would recommend they put in the description of the rooms it is a murphy bed. To me personally, this was not acceptable and I worried about my own safety while manually moving a large wooden wall panel down that was heavy. I wouldn't book this room if I had known. I don't know how many rooms at this hotel had murphy beds, but please mention this in your room descriptions. I would rather see a regular bed frame in my own opinion and my own wellbeing because I am disabled. Secondly, when swimming my room key got lost. I noticed it when I was deep into the hotel at my room. There are no service phones anywhere on my floor (3rd) to call for help. Remember, no cellular service. I had to re-walk to the other side of the property to the reception desk to ask for replacement key. They wouldn't give me a replacement unless I had a physical ID.Everything was in my room. I walked back to the other side of the property back to my room.Security met me at my room to open my door so I can go in and get my DL. Is there an alternative way to get replacement keys like face recognition on your phone, implement remote key from your app (hilton does) or a better method? Not recommended for people with disabilities if there is a murphy bed. Beautiful proper

We just stayed here for seven nights and it was fabulous. We had a one bedroom where it was actually two adjoining hotel rooms. It had two bathrooms, two refrigerators, two patios, one large king bed with a sitting area and twin size pullout, the adjoining room was a large sitting area with a dining table, almost full kitchen, a large murphy bed. The king bedroom has only a mini fridge but the adjoining efficiency has the large regular size fridge, dish sink, microwave, dishwasher. However, if you just get a regular efficiency unit with the Murphy bed, or just get the king bed room efficiency,I can see how that is undesirable. Try to get the full one bedroom, and not the efficiency.With the pull outs, the one bedroom can sleep 5 people - 2 pullouts plus the king bed. There was a little confusion with Royal Sonesta, but it is no big deal at all. Stunning large gardens, koi pond, fountains. They are renovating the resort and they’re almost done and it’s spectacular. The beachfront is fantastic. The nearby restaurants are wonderful, especially Café Portofino. Extremely helpful and pleasant staff, especially the valet workers. We will be back!

The resort was perfect in Oct. Not crowded but all activities were easily accessible-pool, beach, nature walks! The beach is calm and sandy perfect for my 2 year old niece to enjoy! There are plenty of restaurants and shopping with in walking distance. Lots of free or inexpensive activities offered on site. Would definitely return ! Construction was happening while we were here , only reason I rated it very good 4/5 stars !!

I was thoroughly disappointed with my stay at the Kauai Beach Club. There are different types of problems. Some may be improved but some are probably beyond remedy. If walking is hard for you then this isn't the right place. The layout of the property represents an important issue for some patrons. It is about 600 feet from the vehicle drop-off porte-cochere to the check-in desk. This is quite a walk for those who are aged or in ill health. From check-in to our room was about 400 feet more. That's a long way. And there's no alternative. The distance from our room to an on-property restaurant was never less than 500 feet, and sometimes more. If you customarily employ a walker or wheelchair at home you will probably bring some sort of mobility aid on vacation, but the distances that we had to walk came as an unpleasant surprise; we don't customarily walk that far on a sustained basis, so it was tiring. The hotel will arrange delivery from an off-site wheelchair rental firm, but only on a weekly basis. Frankly, it's stunning that they seemed unaware that the need to walk the required distances was daunting for older folks The Kauai Beach Club should not be mistaken for a luxury resort. The facilities are worn down. Hallway panels are chipped and delaminating. The hallways themselves are dim and sometimes actually dark. Stairwells are unkempt and in need of paint. Rooms are small and dated. Renovation may help, but our bathroom was cramped with a nearly obsolete tub/shower that was quite close to the commode. The "king-size" bed seemed like a queen to me. There was a connecting door with the adjacent room and we could hear everything going on in there. Kids are kids, but it was really loud. i don't know whether it will be possible to improve the acoustic isolation. There's a small microwave and a really small 'fridge. The on-property breakfast options seem to be a $64 breakfast buffet (for two). or a "grab and go," where two cups of coffee and two breakfast burritos cost $46. Public spaces have nice landscaping and the pools look good. They may be fine--I didn't swim in the pool. The beach is nice The hotel cost $360 per night. In Hawaii. We should have been wary.... Te

This has become an ordinary time share rather then a resort. The amenities and perks have been severely reduced. In order to charge at the restaurant and pool you have to open a house account at the Sonesta Hotel and you lose your Bonvoy points bonus. You no longer get a discount at the Hokulua Golf Course on site.The one time discounts on the guest privileges card are skimpy. The restaurants in the adjoining area are few and run down. They now give you one tiny bar of soap and small bottle of body lotion under the guise of environmental impact. On the positive side the beach and pool are beautiful. The rooms are clean as are the grounds.

This resort is "just OK" with some good, some bad and some indifferent qualities. We own at the Maui Marriot vacation club and overall the Maui location is definitely much higher quality and in a much better location. The good - rooms are updated, well furnished and comfortable. However, the overall feel of the resort is odd, you get lost a lot, there is no flow to it. The property is shared with another resort, which has a grand check -n lobby. The Marriott has a small dark room off the main courtyard where you check in, which is very odd. The area around the resort has not much to offer, nothing to walk to or enjoy. Pretty much you drive off in a car or that is it. I like a place you can walk to nice amenities, restaurants, shops, etc. Not here. The bay is nice, but its not the wonderful open Pacific of Hawaii. You have to struggle to get a room on a floor with a decent view. The entry hallway to our tower was a utility walkway, not something inviting as a nice resort should be. Oh yeah the parking. I was assured there was plenty of nearby self parking. Well true unless you come back from dinner after say 9 PM, no parking so you need to pay the $30 a day for valet. And they fail to tell you there is an overflow lot you can use. Dining options are scarce and average. Pool area is OK, not terrible, not great. Want coffee and something in the morning to grab? There is one small place, and it closes at 10, with the next place not opening until 11. So if you want anything from 10 to 11, forget it. You need to time when you want your coffee. Overall, just very average to below average for a Hawaiian resort. We will definitely NOT be back. Marriott needs to up its game in this location for sure.

We are ending our beautiful stay at the Kauai Beach Club after a week of fun and relaxation. It was a true treat to be embraced by the Aloha spirit and gorgeous grounds which made our stay very nice. I wanted to highlight my interaction with Deborah. She assisted in re-issuing my keys as I had extended my stay. Her gracious smile and welcome as I walked in was very appreciated. Her demeanor was very sweet and calm. Also the lady working along side her Brooke, I think was her name, assisted as well. Please extend my warm thank you to both of them. We will definitely return. Thank you for everything.

By far the most service provided hotel I have ever been to. I have been to over 50 countries: stayed at alot of hotels, but this is definitely the WORST. Given the name, location and the price you pay, you would at least hope for a decent service. From the time I pulled up for valet service (where the guy gave me the shocking look that I was to valet) in which he asked 3 times and then asked me to take the key to go grab my stuff? Is this valet service? To how they checked me into an occupied room, asking me to drag my luggage all the back to front desk! Then provided a diff room where the toilet overruns!!!!!!! Spoke to the manager on duty, she can’t do anything! She offered a dinner voucher, so what? I can pay! What I want is a RESPECTFUL service! If you want a leisure and on par service, DO NOT stay here, it is definitely not worth your effort or $! It will ruin your trip!
