Opal Caravan Park

Stayed for four nights in Fossikers Villa #24. Really nice, roomy cabin and well equipped. Bathroom was nice with a good, roomy shower, but my husband found the space to dry off quite small for a bigger person. The park is very well kept. It's a little out of town, but there's a good concrete walking path and it takes about 25-30 minutes into town. The only negative would be the cost of using the laundry machines. The only way to pay is by card, and the cost per load in the washing machine was $7 plus an extra .43c for using a card. There is no option to use cash. I didn't use the dryer so don't know the cost for that. Overall I would certainly recommend the BIG4 Opal Holiday Park.

Very well maintained and quiet park in an excellent location. Clean and comfortable and close to the bore bath. We would definitely stay again. The local attractions such as the Walk-in Mine and Chambers of the Black Hand are worth a visit and we found Lightning Ridge locals very friendly.

The Opal is an excellent park … easy in and out of the park and sites …. Staff were excellent in the booking area plus the cleaning staff were great.. amenities are brand new… I would highly recommended the Opal.. the park was a good mixture of people ie families, couples and retirees…

Had a fabulous 4 night stay at opal caravan park. Quick check in. We stayed in a double cabin. Small compact but everything you need. Very close to the thermal baths. The best thing about the park is the winter in -house entertainment. Mel and Susie, bush poets. Every afternoon at 4.30pm they provide an hour of riotous entertainment. Fabulous audience participation especially with the children. Bush poetry at its best. Mel and Susie together and separately have won many awards. Don't forget to ask about their home visit and morning tea.

We stayed here for three nights on a powered drive-thru site. Everything is clean and very well maintained considering the remote location. These are gravel sites, level and not dusty, at least during our stay. The Mel and Sue show is well worth watching as well as their tour which we did this morning. Very entertaining. Walking to the free hot water spas is a 5-minute stroll. We enjoyed our stay at Lightning Ridge

Very clean, very quiet, well designed. Cabins clean & beds comfortable. Nice to stay in this sort of accommodation with more than water & wine glasses nothing of cooking utensils left out. The office staff were quick to fix anything big or small.
