Hotel Gardenia

It was a pleasant stay for the second time in your nice hotel. This time I came with my family like I mentioned also last time. Thanks again for the super nice rooms with a wonderful sea view. Thank you to the maid for taking care of the room and for the new towels. The breakfast service was very attentive and smiling. A well-chosen breakfast menu that was extremely tasty. It was very pleasant to meet Simone, Sara and Dina again. I could promise Dina that I will return again when I have Italian at an elementary level, but it is difficult to learn without being in the language environment. Returning to the same place with the family is difficult - the children are not willing to return to the same place. They prefer to explore other places in other countries. They would always go only to Denmark. Don´t ask why :)?

It has great views and is nicely furnished with good food, a nice grappa bar and some friendly staff - Nadia and Carmello were lovely. Our stay was marred by a few things though: The ‘superior’ room was tiny for 3 people, one having to stay on a sofa bed. It was not as described - no mini bar, no third bed and not big enough for 3 adults. It’s sold as being larger which I wanted to accommodate 3 men. Nothing could be done about that. When we went out, the heating was put back on. The pillows are uncomfortable. There were barking dogs in the next room. The hotel taxi will not pick you up from the main lift, so you need to clump 20 mins up the hill if the bus has ended. They charge you for tap water at dinner. We brought our own water: “No, is not possible.” There was hair in one plate of food. In all it felt like it was run for the manager rather than the residents.

First of all I have to commend the extremely friendly staff at the reception. The rooms are beautiful, bright and. The food is delicious. We definitely recommend it to families with children because there is a lot of content for children. In the restaurant, I noticed that the waiters know the names of the children who come to eat and have fun with them, which is certainly commendable. The only complaint is the maid who came in and cleaned the room, regardless of the fact that we put the label "do not disturb" on the handle and set the lable on the display “not to enter” The first day maid just walked into the room ignoring it all, and the second day as we weren’t moving out of the room (despite the sign on the doorknob and on the display) she wakes us up by knocking twice and asks if the room needs to be cleaned. Read on the door!! That's why there are labels! A bed vas a little uncomfortable for us. This was our second stay at this hotel and we are planning again (hopefully it won’t be the same maid xD)
