Boutique Hotel de la Croix-Fédérale

Food was good, however surprising to see how empty the restaurant was, only one other table. Most disappointed to be told that even having ordered wine and soft drinks we were told that they would not give us a jug of water, we had to buy mineral water.

Very nice “so Swiss” hotel : typical rooms with wood and stones, really comfortable. We have chosen the one for family (“…Hutte”) : our children were so happy (secret room for our second child). Perfectly located, very close to the Church and historical village. Small store at 10 meters. For parking, ask the one provided by the hotel (10 CHF a day but really convenient (close to the hotel and to slopes). Last: the boss is really there to help you and facilitate your stay, he proposed us restaurant (he has Swiss and Italian foods) but not forcing us. Really happy regarding our stay. We’ll be back!

Amazing staff, delicious food, top location. My first time in Croix Hotel, can’t wait to come back. The host Baruti Ilir, was very welcoming and entertaining, made the birthday celebration for my uncle very spontaneous and unforgettable. The other guests joined the celebration from the top floor too 😇 Highly recommend for both staying over or having food!

Advance payment in full is required, which is unheard of in Switzerland. We arrived at a time when the reception was not staffed to drop off the luggage and pick up the guest-card which allowed for discounts at different local attractions. As written at the reception we called a number (during unstaffed hours) and a man showed up an told us in a grumpy way that we should wait as he was busy with other guests. 20 minutes later we called again but the call was terminated immediately. About 3 minutes later he came back and started lecturing us about how impatient and rude we were. We said politely that we were paying guests who expected service as well upon which he got aggressive and started shouting. We then said that under these circumstances we did not want to stay at his hotel and he told us that we should get out immediately. Asked about the money paid in advance we were told he didn’t care about our money and should do whatever we wanted. The money is still outstanding. Stay away from this unfriendly tourist trap!!

The perfect hotel in the perfect spot in the heart of the village 🥰 We had the rooftop room with the 360 views of the surrounding mountains and village 🥰 for us it was magical, we couldn't have been happier with the comfort and cleanliness of the room and on suite bathroom. The bed was in the perfect location to view the ridges and stars of an evening with a glass of wine and soda 🥰 wonderful setting. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and had a great atmosphere to relax and have a great meal ( the food was excellent) with a few glasses of wine. The management and staff couldn't have been more helpful with everything being catered for for both of us on our 2 night stay. We thank you all. 😘 Overall it was a magical experience for us both to have stayed in such a wonderful hotel right in the heart of the village. As our room was cancelled for false reasons (non-payment of the room in advance in this case), this review only reflects the interaction we had with the receptionist and the hotel's customer service. We had booked a room in this establishment more than 2 months in advance. At the time of booking, there was no mention of the need to pay for the stay prior to arrival. We quickly received a reminder and paid the amount due. One day before our arrival, we received an email telling us that our reservation had been cancelled because we had not paid (!) and that other people were paying more for the room (!!). We immediately called the hotel and were told that a room would be found in an adjacent hotel. When we got there, we were extremely poorly received by the person at the front desk, who was annoying, aggressive and not listening. We were taken to the hotel "Maison Blanche", a hotel clearly below the standards of the Federal Cross and in which we would never have stayed of our own free will given the comments found on the internet. We then contacted the hotel's customer service, who explained the hotel's "Policy" regarding advance payment of stays and did not acknowledge any shortcomings on their part. With this experience, the Hotel de la Croix Fédérale is clearly not a place I would recommend. The risk of sleeping in a dingy hotel while paying the price of a "Boutique Hotel" is clearly not worth it.
