We were a group of 6 ladies of a certain age. We had a fantastic week at The Aphrodite Hotel. We were half board which was only about £65 more than b&b and it gave us flexibility. We only ate out in Molyvos one night as the food and setting at the hotelto eat our evening meal was lovely. We watched the sunset with a cocktail and then enjoyed a lovely 4 course meal. I am coeliac and I was catered for really well both at breakfast and dinner. The rooms were great and kept very clean. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The only criticism I have and why I gave 4 stars not 5 is that the hotel could really do with a shuttle bus into Molivos. We were in Molivos for the evening after a boat trip and we just couldn't get a taxi back to the hotel. One if our party has mobility issues and there is no way she could have walked back. Several shop and bar owners tried to secure us a taxi but it took about an hour before we got one which made for a stressful end to a lovely evening. A shuttle bus would alleviate this issue. All in all we had a fabulous week in a beautiful hotel and ai would recommend to anyone who loves a quiet, peaceful holiday as we do.

The hotel grounds and pool are great with plenty of space and sunbeds. The beach is a pebble one and not very big but adequate. Beach shoes a must. The hotels Taverna is between the pool and beach and serves really good food and drink at reasonable prices. I think this is why they dont run a shuttle bus ..so guests stay on site. Its a 5 min taxi drive into Molivos and costs £7 euros. The breakfast was one of the best ever with loads of good choice (only thing missing was a decent sausage ). We booked with Jet2 and were in the original hotel block, not the annex. This was not as nice as the newer part and is in need of refurbishment. It appeared European guests were placed there. Molivos is really nice and we went to eat here 6 or 7 times. Best meals..The Sea Horse, Tropicana, Gatos , and Misirlou the burger place just before the harbour..Best burgers ever. Try Friends for lunch, all the locals go here for gyros etc. Also the womens co operative in Petra was fabulous. We hired a car for 2 days and saw some of the island which was nice. Its easy to see why this hotel and Molivos have so many returning guests .Some coming year after year. Everything went as planned so well done Jet 2 as usual. We will be back.

The resort facilities are lovely but the staff, at best, were taciturn. We are pleasant, undemanding guests but barely got a hello from anyone on staff. We absolutely loved the location next to the ocean but the STENCH from the toilets permeated the entire room. They really need t deal with this as I’ve seen reviews elsewhere complaining about this absolute horror.

Location-we picked the town because of the harbour & hotel knowing it was a 30 minute walk based on the better facilities it offered and these were as advertised. Pool well appointed, pretty with very comfortable loungers and we were expecting the rocky not particularly pretty beach. The walk into town was disappointing not because it was a 30 minute incline, but beause it wasn’t that scenic and the walk back at night was a hazard even wearing white / with torch due to numerous bends / lack of foot path. Whilst not an issue for us as we had car and taxi was 7 euros each way we do like to walk in an evening. Accommodation- we booked superior and this was clean and comfortable but most views are car park or rough ground. After a week we down grounded to a standard in order to get a sea side view. Initially we thought we were better off. After 1 nights sleep noticed sound proofing very different, bed uncomfortable, bad drain smell room very dark (furnishings dark but made worse by light bulb not working and no replacement despite asking). Also Tv not as large and unable to access same channels as previous rooms. Good - breakfast fairly good for Greek hotel breakfast but they need more toasters.lunch time snacks tasty. Evening meal we only tried once as food poor and service slow (not enough staff / influx of new guests) Staff - reception staff very friendly and helpful as were cleaners and catering staff ( breakfast). Bar staff helpful but perhaps a little short staffed to be able to chat as much Cleanliness - super clean but drain smell in rooms but understand in Greece this can be an issue Lesvos - quiet. Easy to drive around. Friendly people. However will not be retuning as not the prettiest of the Greek islands Highlights - Skala Skalymanis, petrified forest, monesty next to it and Molivos itself

The Aphrodite is an oasis of perfection, it deserves top marks for food, friendless and location. This is a truly special place.

Lovely hotel - everything seems well thought out; comfy sunloungers, beautiful gardens with shady places to sit, excellent food, effective and quiet air conditioning, friendly staff, solar panels to generate their own electricity, wonderful pool, and no loud music anywhere! The only downside for us was the long, hot and hilly walk into Molivos - we usually walked one way and got a taxi back. A shuttle bus would be great but maybe too costly for the hotel. We booked the half board option which was good value if you wanted all four courses on the set menu but portions were huge. If we return we will just order from the menu. House wine was good value and quality. This is a very well run hotel and they deserve these positive reviews.

We had a very relaxing two week holiday at this lovely hotel . The staff were very welcoming, helpful and hardworking. The hotel is kept spotless, there is a good breakfast choice. We would have lunch at the taverna most days and in the evening get a taxi into Molyvos . I knew that the location of the hotel was a short distance from the town - but given the heat and the hills taxis were definitely the best option. The pool is lovely and very comfy sunbeds. The beach - yes very stony - and gosh the sea was freezing ! But very refreshing. The rooms are good- particularly the bathroom and the TV had best choice of channels in Greece I have experienced- including Netflix. One tip -take a small extension lead as only one power point in room . This was our first visit to Lesvos , we had a great time, the villages of Molyvos, Petra and Anaxos are lovely to visit , but we did not go further afield as we did not hire a car . I would definitely recommend the Aphrodite if looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday.

Excellent Hotel in a stunning setting with it's own pebble beach. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Breakfasts are excellent- unusual for Greek hotels. The food in the taverna is excellent and extremely helpful staff. We had lunch there most days. Lovely rooms. Fantastic sunsets. Beautiful pool area and gardens. Many plusses. We had a really lovely holiday but for us it was too remote to want to go back. My husband has a problem walking which was no problem around the hotel but every where are very steep hills. The first time we had a meal in the harbour we had a problem getting a taxi back from the harbour in fact it was due to the hotel's persuasion we managed to get a taxi at all. I like to go for a morning walk but it is a long walk into Molivos up and down very steep hills- my tracker on my phone said I had walked up the equivalent of 11 floors- and I only reached the edge of the village. There are really only two walks and both very steep hills. Being sensible in the heat ( around 30-32 degrees) immediately after breakfast is the sensible time to go- mind we were there in a heatwave. Most people got taxis in the evenings into Molivos and Petra- 6 eros to the edge of Molivos and 10 eros to the harbour- each way and 13 euros each way to Petra. It is well worth taking the tourist train - hop on and hop off 9 euros or 6 euros to stay on for the round trip- reduction half price for those who have a disability. We feel we spent at least £150 on taxis so be prepared for this expense. A stunning island and I am so pleased we have seen it. oh and the hotel is two transfer from airport.

We enjoyed 4 very pleasant days at the Aphrodite Hotel, Molyvos. We are 2 very fit 60+s and the hotel was ideal for us. It's a spotlessly clean, charming, family run hotel with wonderfully friendly staff who were helpful and happy to accommodate any requests in a professional and friendly manner. It may lack some of the nternationally recognised 4* services but nothing that bothered us much. We've not been expected to clear our own breakfast table before but it wasn't a problem for us. The 25 minute, uphill walk to the charming town of Molyvos is not something to consider in the heat of the day. The hotel's well maintained, shady garden is the place to be when it's hot. The beachside taverna serves lovely food at very reasonable, taverna prices. Sitting there with a cocktail watching the sun sink into the sea is the perfect way to round off a beautiful day. We have just two suggestions: We understand the rules in Greece about smoking anywhere outside but if you had a dedicated outdoor area for smokers I'm sure many would use it. We found it hard to escape unwanted smoke at breakfast. A shuttle bus to town would be lovely but we understand the costs involved and it's taking business away from the hotel taverna. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.
