"It really is a characterful hotel with a lovely central garden area. It is in a central position with very helpful staff. The beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms spacious. "This guest houses has been lovely from start to finish, the ladies and gentleman here are so helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The sheets are immaculately clean in the rooms and really soft, you get more than one pillow! The bathrooms are kept very clean also. The pool is beautiful. The kitchen is great for cooking meals! Just remember you’ll need spices, oil etc but all the utensils and pans are there for you to use. The walk into town is a lot in the heat but we managed just fine! We also booked a volcano tour and had the best time. Thank you so much "

"Upon check in there was confusion with our multiple reservations. We had a group of 9. We did not find the front desk agent that greeted us to be friendly. And then we were told that none of the rooms had hot water, which was not specified when we booked online via booking. In addition, the room that we stayed in # 11, had something living in the ceiling (we think it was a bat), plus there was plastic and cardboard taped to the ceiling. Another thing to point out is that the AC mini split unit in that room is not adequate for the size of the room and the fact that it has vaulted ceilings. So during the day it is hot and does not cool down much until night time. The walls are thin so you can hear your neighbors and it’s hard to sleep because the next-door neighbors have multiple dogs barking all night. This is a very basic hotel, but I guess people expect less since you’re paying less, however maintenance should be the most basic thing in any hotel. The descriptions of the rooms should also be more clear. (For example, we had booked multiple rooms thinking they all had AC. But not all of the rooms in the hotel have AC and it was not mentioned that some rooms did not have AC so we had to switch at time of check-in.). This hotel could be nice, but it needs much better attention to detail."

"Honestly, Hotel Austria was such a top tier stay. The location is really top notch for location. It’s steps away from the Main Plaza in Leon and pretty much most of the things you’d need to walk to. Refrigerators weren’t automatically in the rooms, but you can rent a refrigerator for an extremely reasonable price. Mine was under $5USD for the entire time I was there. The courtyard and the rooms have a nice secluded oasis feel given that it’s so close to city center and it was pleasing to come back to after all the tours, nightlife, or exploring. The breakfast included was made to order. There were options like the traditional America, Pancakes, and some other things, but I went with #4 The Nicaraguan because that’s where we’re at and it was amazing every time. It came with coffee (about two cups worth) and orange juice. Safety was on point. They have a guard in the front all day/night and they can also help you get a taxi as well. I have no complaints and highly recommend this hotel for anyone coming to Leon."
