Comfort Inn & Suites Lenoir Hwy 321 Northern Foothills

This is a very impressive budget hotel! Ordinarily, I am averse--almost allergic--to issuing a "five star" review, preferring to reserve those for truly excellent establishments. But this place did stand out as the best hotel in our 10-night vacation to western North Carolina. It was meticulously clean. Even the television remote control, which some studies suggest may be the most germ-infested item in most hotel rooms, was wrapped in plastic to assure sanitation. Beyond the unusual cleanliness, we were very pleased to find a fresh crock pot of good chili laid out in the lobby for hotel guests. Who does that? We availed ourselves of this free dinner and marveled at the depth of hospitality. This hotel manager obviously stands out at making guests feel welcome and pampered. We would go out of our way to stay here again someday. Alas, no place is perfect. My notes indicate that biscuits and gravy may be available only if one makes it to breakfast early enough. Fortunately, I was able to ditch the gravy ladle and use a plastic spoon to scrape out enough gravy from the sides of the pot to cover my biscuit. I also noted the sausage was undercooked, and the yogurt was cheap Great Value brand from Wal-Mart, unfortunately tasting more like pudding than good yogurt. Moreover, although cereal was provided, I could find no evidence of milk--perhaps also due to arriving a bit late in the breakfast window. But my picky breakfast negatives are far, far outweighed by the impeccable hygiene and hospitality provided by the Comfort Inn & Suites of Lenoir. This is a splendid budget hotel.

This is without a doubt the noisiest place we have ever stayed. We could hear the family next door until after midnight and evidently the family one floor up and across the hall from us EARLY the first morning we stayed. We stayed at a Fairfield Inn at thanksgiving and that king room was as quiet as an abandoned hotel! We heard nothing and they were about 60% capacity! These walls are not insulated at all! The floors make noise as you walk across them. As is the norm for most places nowadays, there is not an exhaust vent fan in the bathroom to remove steam or odors. Everything comes into the room. Three minutes into a shower and everything is fogged up! After standing on the tile floor in the bathroom for only a couple of minutes your bare feet would stick to them like they were dirty, but there was virtually no residue present when wiped with a wet towel. Not acknowledged as a Choice Gold member either. Not coming back here.

Stayed here for a trip to see the fall foliage. Super clean, very comfortable beds, friendly staff. 10/10 will definitely be back! Breakfast was very good. Conveniently located, Walmart across the road for any essentials you forgot. Good parking as well.

Great basic motel, great breakfast, good location with wal-mart, plenty of restaurants and other businesses nearby. But the price seems to depend on whos at the desk at the time, a particular woman has checked me in twice, when she is there the price jumps by about 40 dollars. I ask for the same type room, same discount, always on weekdays. I will be trying again. I plan to try to reserve a room again and if she, (or whomever) does not get it down to the discounted price that I usually pay, I will drive on down the road, red roof inn is 30 dollars cheaper but not near as good, Hampton inn is the same price and a bit nicer.

Booked this last minute and had never been to this town before...turned out to be an awesome place to stay! Hotel was very clean staff was friendly and breakfast was great!! This is the kind of hotel that makes me loyal to Choice hotels! Def a 5 star place!
