Well what a gem of a hotel. Maybe a hotel is too bland. The Talland Bay was nothing we had experience before from the friendly staff to the quirky Alice in Wonderland and fairytale decor out side an in. We were warmly welcomed at reception and right away made to feel at Home. The staff here are friendly and professional, from reception, the bar and through to the restaurant could not ask for better. Our suite with sea view was absolutely amazing. Luxury is an understatement. It contained everything one would need. Spacious, easy chairs to lounge in and a great four poster bed. The room was clean and well looked after. Not only are there great views form the room, you get even better with a short walk to the gardens. These are neat and well kept. In the evenings you can sit, sip your cocktail and watch the rabbits cavorting on the lawns. The restaurant is full of great decor and has a wonderful ambiance in the evenings. We chose to eat breakfast in the conservatory. Breakfasts were simply great with a wide choice from full "Cornish" to simple fruit and continental. Everyday was a joy to sit eat your breakfast with a sea view, Evenings started in the bar with a aperitifs or wine tasting. The sommelier was excellent in recommending the right wine for your choice of dinner. The dinners were again simply superbe every evening be it steak done to perfection, or fish just excellent. The last night we had freshly caught Lobster, which was in another class simply delicious. Having not had lobster for many a year it took me back to my childhood holidaying in Cornwall and having fresh lobster and crab regularly freshly cook, having been caught by my Grandfather that morning and boy did he know how to cook a Lobster! If you want a tranquillie setting for a quiet or romantic weekend then this is the place to be. We had three glorious nights here and would definitely recommend the Talland Bay Hotel. It is one of the best boutique hotels we have had the pleasure of staying at.
