Lancaster Townhouse

Stayed one night when passing through Lancaster. The host was very friendly and informative about local eateries and entertainment. (We loved the Araya Thai Restaurant) Room was comfortable. Not cramped and good window insulation against the busy road at front of property. Sliding door to bathroom could perhaps have done with a spray of wd40. Bathroom spacious enough but shower took some skill to regulate between cold and scalding (got there eventually). Bed was comfy and got a good nights sleep. Plenty of parking spaces in the car park immediately behind the property. It is a free council car park, busier during the day but we didn’t have a problem getting a park at any time. Breakfast (included) was plentiful. We knew in advance it wouldn’t include cooked items and that suited us fine. Staff again very friendly and helpful. Tbh the Townhouse probably waivers between a 3* and 4* rating for me but I felt after such a restful stay it would be churlish to reduce from 4* on basis of a squeaky bathroom door and weak shower.

My wife and I stayed for a single Friday night last weekend. We stayed at the rear of the property on the 2nd floor. Upon early arrival Stuart told us we could leave our bags, park round the corner in the free car park and check-in later after we had an afternoon in Lancaster. He gave us directions to the canal walk into the town centre and we took it and agreed it was a lovely introductory walk into Lancaster. Our room was very comfortable with nice touches like fresh bottled water and boxes of tissues. The continental breakfast the next day was outstanding with many choices of breads, crumpets, breakfast bars, cerials, fruit and the most delicious yogurts. The Ukrainian lady that helped ot at breakfast was very friendly and recommended Williamson Park and the Ashton memorial. We visited these on the Saturday and were very impressed by both the size of the park and just how enourmous the memorial is (you can go up to the top level via the internal staircases). Thank you for making our 1st trip to Lancaster a joyous and memorable one !

Our room was at the front of the house , I can’t even begin to say how noisy the traffic was , we thought maybe it would calm down on a night … wrong ! It was horrendous it went on all night , myself and my husband were up all night there was no respite from it ! Breakfast was continental, ha it was a joke so bad, we intended staying here 2 nights but had to ask for our money back for the 2 nd night and leave ! This b&b wasn’t cheap we ended up staying at Windermere in a beautiful guesthouse with full English breakfast cheaper than we paid at this one! We checked the reviews before booking and can’t believe this problem was never mentioned, maybe if you were at the back of the house it would be better but the front was just terrible, it’s the main road into Lancaster so it’s non stop traffic! We were exhausted!

I cannot rave enough about what a lovely little B&B this is. I wish I had taken photos of the single room I had. It was so clean, fresh and roomy. It had a very clean bathroom that was stocked with toiletries and fluffy fresh towels. The B&B offers fresh fruit and biscuits to snack on as well as bottled water, unlimited coffee, and tea. The owners warmly greeted me and gave me loads of information about Lancaster to help me make my stay eventful. There is also information on the board. There is free WiFi. There is limited parking in front but a free council carpark directly behind the B&B. There is an “evening dining room” where I ate my takeaway. What I loved was they had sustainable disposable plates and cutlery, wine glasses and a corkscrew (wish I had brought some wine!). Had I not brought my knitting, I could have perused the plentiful selection of books. There was even a bowl of sweets on the coffee table which was nice. I had a lovely conversation with the lady who looks after the place overnight A very healthy breakfast of cereals or porridge is on offer with yoghurts, fruit, milk and/or juice, tea or fresh brewed coffee (delicious), toast (various bread types on offer) and crumpets. My only regret is that I only stayed one night for an event I was attending. But the value for money makes this a lovely little jewel of a place.

Stayed while in Lancaster for my son’s wedding, the hotel was lovely, the owner was friendly and helpful and nothing was to much trouble, they have literally thought of everything from water/ snacks to toiletries in the rooms and a brilliant choice of continental breakfast I would definitely recommend staying here and will definitely stay when I visit my son

Great, welcoming B&B. Would highly recommend for a Lancaster visit. It is a bit of a walk from the centre but there are two lovely walks in - via the canal or the river. Great wildlife by day and night - but bring a torch if walking back in the dark. Owners were really friendly and the breakfast was great. Not a cooked breakfast but lovely cereals, yoghurt, toast and crumpets - set us up for the day!. We will visit again.
