Lovely pub/hotel right on the Quayside and close to town centre. Limited parking (although blue badge parking outside) excellent food with breakfast cooked to order. Some rooms don't have a view. Very clean and tidy with staff excellent and helpful

Had 1 night stay 30th June. The pub and staff were great. Food and breakfast were excellent, room was very nice and clean. Great location about 5 minutes walk from centre and the castle. My wife left her phone charger in the room and they very kindly posted out to us. Can't wait to stay again

We went for a meal last night and I was not impressed. The meal took 45 minutes to come as they were short staffed and we wouldn't have minded if the food had been decent when it did arrive but it really wasn't. We ordered fish and chips with garden peas and it came with mushy peas, ok no bother a small mistake which we could forgive as the meal as a whole was nice. We also ordered a burger. We paid 1.50 for bacon to be added and I kid you not it was the tiniest peoce of bacon ever and I thought this was a complete rip off, the fries were luke warm and we ended up not eating them, the burger itself was fine. We also ordered a hot dog and this is the meal that made my blood boil.... the menu describes a locally sourced bratwurst hotdogs, its sounded like something special and I'm telling you now, this was the type of hotdogs you get in a jar from a supermarket, it was tiny. It was in a bun which was too small. I'd finished it in 6 mouthfuls and honestly if i hadn't been so hungry i wouldn't have eaten it all. It wasn't very nice. The fries were also luke warm. I wanted to complain but the staff were so busy and I felt so sorry for them as other tables had complained to them already and didn't have the heart ....i also didn't have time to wait for a free coffee or whatever other meaningless apology we would be offered..... frankly nothing but our money back would have been acceptable. We won't be going back ever again and will not be recommending to anyone. Just to note, the staff behind the bar were great, very polite, very efficient and really friendly and they made us aware they were short staffed and the meals might take a little longer than usual.

Nice pub and good beer .food not a very good standard .my wife had fish and chips ,fish was ok but the chips looked like they had been cooked the day before and were dry and many inedible. My burger was burnt in places the blue cheese topping was just a lump of unmelting mess and the coleslaw which was supposed to be served on a bed of lettuce came on a limp single leaf .not very appetising and not at all like the photos . Although I would go back for a drink I would definitely think again about eating there.

We can't of been an easy table to serve, half of us arrived early the rest were late From the start the staff did a great job courteous, friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. Between us we had the Roast beef, chicken, salmon and Nut roast all of it cooked to perfection tasty and good value . I had the nut roast which was new to the menu, I'd defiantly have it again. We look forward to returning

Lovely stay at this great pub, comfy rooms, excellent food and great landlady and staff. The breakfast was top drawer, nothing too much trouble and very friendly waitress. We also had Sunday roast dinner and this was superb, we will be back to try the a la carte menu.
