Glenisle Hotel

Wonderful small boutique hotel right on the bay front at Lamlash, Arran. We stayed in the Premier Suite on the top floor which was fantastic, super comfortable, spotlessly clean and exactly what we'd hope for. In addition an amazing view out onto the bay and the Holy Isle beyond. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, in fact I can't wait to return.

What can we say… we love it here! We stayed last year and had to come back again. Joy, Nathan, Milo & chef Derek - amazing food, so welcoming, friendly & warm. Room was v comfy. They all go above and beyond for us & we can’t wait to come back next year :) thank you!!

Don't understand pricing....we paid top money for a room that should have been a single at most, or a large broom cupboard. Room 6 avoid. Blind broken, less than basic. Decor ? Nice staff , food , hit and miss, music too loud all the time., speakers in all dining places. 2 days enough....sorry, all needs a good tweaking.

From the moment we were checked in by the appropriately named Joy to the moment we left the customer service we experienced at The Glenisle was fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble and all staff are friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Like staying with friends. Our room was impeccably clean and tidy and the bed was so comfortable that we indulged in a lie in on both mornings of our stay. We had both breakfast and dinner at The Glenisle and cannot fault either. Tasty, well cooked and plentiful. Sad to leave and will definitely be back.

Lovely place, easy to book over the phone. Seated immediately. We were served by friendly staff with great sense of humour. Very welcoming. Fantastic good quality food and huge portions at very reasonable prices. Will definitely return and highly recommend.

Just spent a very pleasant 3 nights at this hotel. We stayed in room 1 which has 2 windows looking out over the bay. The room, and bed, was very comfortable and clean. The staff could not do enough for us. There is a lovely beer garden which is large and very well kept. They also have a restaurant which we ate in on all 3 nights and which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner not only to hotel guests but to drop in customers as well. The food quality was very good however, it could do with expanding the evening menu a bit as a lot of the choices were on the heavy side and portions were very large. Prices were fair for what was being served. NB. Our room was at the front of the building and the road gets very busy from about 7am - 9am so if you like a lie in, choose a room further back in the hotel. We will go back to this hotel.

I would have given this hotel 5* but the first night we stayed there there was an event downstairs and it was very noisy. We were staying in room 2 (which is just above), and unfortunately I could not get my baby to sleep, which unsettled him for a long time. Anyway, other than that (which is a personal issue really, couples travelling without young babies would not have this issue!) it was a lovely hotel, lovely staff.

Where to start... This was a trip of a lifetime and it was all because of the amazing staff at Glenisle. We booked a double room and upon arrival found out that the shower wasn't working, we spoke to reception and were told someone was called out to fix....fab we thought, lovely and efficient...but even better and such a lovely surprise that we ended up being able to move rooms so that our holiday could start without any interruptions. I cannot fault anything about this hotel, the location is beautiful, the breakfast is fantastic, we had such amazing service each morning and food was catered for all preferences. If you don't end up staying at Glenisle at least book in for their breakfast and at least one evening dinner. You will not be disappointed! We spent an evening having dinner in the restaurant and they were all so kind to us, it was our wedding anniversary and we were honestly treated like royalty. Each member of staff is so connected to what they do, we had so many amazing food and sightseeing recommendations, that we wish we stayed longer to complete them all. Thank you to Joy, Nethan, Charlotte, Miles and Dougle, (plus everyone else we encountered!!!) You made our Arran stay magical.

Stayed for one night, but were allocated room 2. It was lovely. All staff we met were very friendly. Special shout out to Imogen, she gave us a very warm welcome. Breakfast and dinner were very tasty. Lovely beer garden, the weather helped! Views were gorgeous. We will return.
