Relais Villa Vittoria - Antica Dimora - Lake Como

This is an absolutely stunning property! My wife and I have stayed here a few times and it only gets better. The views (WOW), the infinity pool! the curated landscaping, the ambient music, the restoration of this 18th century structure...... all magnificent. Lovely staff, excellent breakfast, parking is a 4 minute walk from the property but hey, you can't have it all right! If you see some scuffs and or cracks remember that properties like these are very old and must be addressed by qualified people. Plus it only adds to the character and charm of the place. I'm embarrassed to read some of the negative comments by fellow American travelers and in some cases self proclaimed seasoned travelers. (Well travelled folks don't ever mention that by the way) American's tend to be a little entitled because we come from a service driven system and many forget that Europe beats to a different drum. Italy respects its laws, its climate and its environment. They respect their history and restore properties like this in the formal and correct ways. Then we come and open up our hidden Kevins and Karens as if because we pay for something, it's okay to speak to folks with demanding authority. I've witnessed this kind of behavior time and time again and each time a growing embarrassment for my kind. People who don't know how to travel should stay at home or start to learn to be a true traveler. Always expect the un expected. Nothing ever goes as planned so roll with the punches. To the staff, Keep on doing what you've been doing. You are what makes Villa Vittoria what it is. To the owner, you have crafted a beautiful dreamy place, Bravo! and everyone has their moments, I would too if an angry traveller is yelling at me without knowing the local norms. Travelers should understand where they are and take the time to try and learn a little bit of the local language to avoid misunderstandings. At the very least use a translation app. Anyway , back to the property's review. Villa Vittoria is situated in a great location, easy to find, easy to access touristic destinations and from the lake via private boat service as well. We've had boats pick us up on its' dock out back for day tours of the nearby villages/towns. The living spaces in this property are beautiful, the architectural lighting in the evening are perfect. The Villa is great for a romantic get away or if you're just passing through, in either case, It's just perfect.

Relais Villa Vittoria is simply magical! We hosted our 30-person wedding here last month and the more we reflect, the more it feels like we were living in a dream. The service, the food, and the property were all fabulous! Realis has this historic charm to it that makes you feel like you are living in a storybook and while I’ve read through several mixed reviews, I can tell you that this is a destination that I will crave to return to for the rest of my life. There’s something so special that echoes throughout the villa. While we were there the lush landscape was filled with jasmine blooms and there were swans that swam up on the lake. I wish I could bottle it up. To our wedding planner Laura that helped make our wedding dreams come true – thank you! You were lovely to work with, quick to reply to all of our questions, and recommended amazing vendors that exceeded our expectations. To the hotel staff that delivered upon all our requests and more, thank you for being a part of our special day! Truly an amazing team. This place is an absolute gem! Memories of a lifetime.

On the banks of the most charming of Italian lakes, a boutique hotel full of charm where time stands still suspended above the waves. The staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient and the rooms are very pleasant and well decorated, some with a balcony overlooking the water. And don't forget the excellent surprise of the restaurant, where the cuisine matches the beautiful terrace (excellent parmigiana, among other dishes). Please note: the car park is small and a little further away.

We had wonderful 4 night stay in a spacious well appointed room with exquisite views. The staff were always friendly, and very helpful with our numerous enquiries. Breakfast was plentiful and dinner well presented and delicious. While linen was fresh and clean I would advise improving the quality of the linen and duvets and provide a warm extra blanket, even in spring. And the towels which while perfectly clean, are very thin. Good thick cotton towels are a must. Despite these criticisms we would highly recommend this gorgeous hotel. Thank you everyone

My husband and I travel a lot and I have never felt a need to write a review for anything because we have always been happy with our choices based on thorough investigation of hotels before we travel. We like Mr and Mrs Smith, Telegraph and Small luxury hotels reviews a lot. Villa Vittoria at Lake Como has made me feel like I have to offer a fellow small luxury traveler that expects value for money a warning. Room was ok and what we had booked. However, service throughout the hotel… reception, bar service and restaurant were less than zero. The music played throughout the hotel, outside terrace areas and even the restaurant was loud and obnoxious and we asked many times for them to turn it down and they would not. The 80’s discotheque music at their expensive lakeside restaurant was too much for us. The loud music ruined what should have been our last night of a fabulous two week vacation in Northern Italy and the Dolomites. Worst part was they didn’t care when we brought it to their attention. Very disappointed. We also had an early flight from Malpensa the next day and had to leave 7:30 and breakfast was not available until 8:30. Do not recommend this hotel if you want a quality experience. Perhaps we were unlucky…but I hate being disappointed when I am the customer and the staff doesn’t care. One should also consider access and parking facilities of this hotel if driving. Very cumbersome.
