Auberge Cap Martin

Huge parking lot. Hotel is old, but ok. The restaurant attached is very expensive with $21.00 for pancakes. We choose to eat somewhere else. They have hand soap and shampoo that was in unwrapped bars on the edge of the sink. At first I was appalled seeing this thinking it was used soap and upon further inspection of the room and reading what they had laminated, it was some special soap. But I think it should be in individually wrapped packages. At first it looked awful. Easy access from highway. Just about a 3 min drive there is a fancy chip wagon with a huge parking lot and picnic tables called Chez Mag. Worth trying.

On Saturday, after a long journey, we checked in and wanted to go to a restaurant, but the restaurant was closed for dinner, so we had to get back into the car and drive a few kilometers further to another restaurant. There was neither a microwave nor a coffee maker in the room, I think these quite important appliances were only downstairs on the ground floor for the entire hotel/motel - quite unbelievable. There was a big enough fridge in the room. The noisy A/C disturbed us a lot at night. As for the bathroom, it was very mysteriously done. Bath, shower and toilet in one small room behind the door, but towels were in a small room in front of the bathroom. There was also a wall-to-wall sink in this small room, so there was hardly any place to put a toothbrush. Somewhat ill-conceived, in my opinion the one wall in between should have been torn down and the door should have been right next to the small first room, everything that belongs to the bathroom would be in one room and you could wash your hands immediately after using the toilet... Otherwise extreamly overpriced for nothing. I will definitely not go back there, it's OK for the one night.

This hotel has a lot of positives: Room was large, comfortable, clean with good WIFI. Bed is comfortable and bathroom well stocked with towels. There is no coffee service in the room and pillow was thin. I used decorative pillow to prop it up. The experience is definitely better than a chain hotel and we plan to return on our next trip down east.

The outside looks a little older at first glance, but the rooms have obviously been recently updated and are quite nice. Our room had a mini fridge. Everything, and particularly the bathrooms, was spotlessly clean. The restaurant serves breakfast and lunch. It was a 5-minute walk to a wonderful walking trail along the St. Lawrence River. There were picnic tables and Adirondack chairs outside the hotel to enjoy the view and the sunset. If I could offer one thing to improve on, it would be the pillows, which were firm and a bit thin. All in all, very good value for the money and a wonderful location.

I booked it mainly for the price and location. I wasn’t expecting much. But it was very good. The room was clean, and everything worked well. The wifi was perfect. Plus the restaurant next door was very good. It was close to the highway to head out quickly the next day.

Contour du bain noirci, tuiles cassée, robinetterie cassée. Pour le prix ce ne vaut pas ces chambres. Éviter à mon avis car il y a d’autre motels plus propres dans le secteur. Très décevant et trop cher payé. Accueil généreux et accueillant.
